Was not as expected

We bought this a few weeks back, but it it was less than satisfactory. Started out it was listed as a 30 inch cooktop yet was only 29 1/4 inches so did not fit properly in the replacement cut out. The cooktop had flaws in the finish. We are waiting on our replacement cooktop at this time.

Nice Cooktop

Very nice cooktop. This is our second one. Only reason we replaced the old one was due to wife dropping a cast iron skillet on it and cracking the top glass. Easy to install. Easy to use. Nice unit with the stainless trim and knobs.

GE 30-in 5 burners Smooth surface Black Electric C

I received my GE 30-in 5 burners Smooth surface Black Electric Cooktop and I was very dissapointed after waiting a week for the delivery. The cooktop that was delivered the box was opened and the cooktop looked used. The cables at the end had tape of them. I am surprised Lowe’s doesn’t do quality control before shipping merchandise. Then I called the store to request a pickup and asked for another cooktop to be delivered at the same time and they told me it couldn’t be done. Horrible service

Ok so far - but have questions

I like the look of the surface and so far (only 2 weeks) it cleans fine. Not crazy about the knobs in front, but it had two flexible burners that I did want, so I'll have to get used to knobs in the way. I read a lot of bad reviews on many different smooth cooktops on different models and different brands - so I'm trying to be very, very careful about cleaning it and not setting anything on it. Replacement

I bought this to replace a GE I bought 4 years ago. The burners on that one were not heating evenly, and it scratched easily. So far, this one is OK, but I have only used it twice.

Already broken

I replaced a 6 year GE Profile cooktop with this one since it was he only one I could find that fit the hole in my granite countertop. That one suffered the same as this one in that the "Power Boil" dual element burner stopped working. That on lasted about 3-4 years and I replaced it once but it stopped again after a year or so. Good selection of sizes (heating elements).

This stove yop replaced an earlier GE version due to a crack in the glasstop. Crack was caused by dropping a cast iron pot on th eedge.

GE burner is good buy

So far so good, we like this cooktop. It replaced a Bosch which was always a problem, shut down every time water spilled on surface. And was all touch buttons, which is annoying . This one has knobs which can easily be adjusted in whatever increments you desire . And liquid spills does not shut down the burners. It’s stainless and looks good and is cheaper too.

Purchased this to replace the same product from 5 years ago. Actually, not quite the same product as the earlier purchase was the "Profile" version and had stainless accents. The best feature about this product is that all GE cooktops fit in the same cut-out. That means the homeowner can replace it easily. This is the third replacement in 25 years. I love GE products and have always had GE ovens and cooktops. I was so excited to replace my old white coil-burner electric cooktop with this smooth-top 5-burner.
