Review: I purchased seven of these alarms in 2021 (five standard and two speaker models). Unfortunately, we’ve experienced around a dozen false smoke alarms over the years, almost always in the middle of the night. False Alarms and End of Life after 2 years

I purchased 7 of these for a new home build with vaulted ceilings. I wanted ones that I could silence through an app on my phone because I knew reaching them was going to be almost impossible with them mounted about 14 -- 22 feet up on the ceiling per code requirements. Getting them to register with my WiFi for app alerts was difficult to begin with but after I finally got them connected, I found that the control for silencing them was a Bluetooth connection and doesn't even go through the WiFi....

No better than a "dumb" alarm

I bought this hoping I could add one smart alarm, interconnect it with my existing First Alert "dumb" alarms, and receive notifications on my phone. I hooked it up, tested it by setting off another alarm in my house, watched it too go off with all of the others, and then waited, waited, and waited for a notification that NEVER came to my phone. Looks good but a few minor issues

Looks good. Easy to install except that the screws provided were poor quality and did not fit holes in junction box. Setup in the app took two tries, but ended up working. Great product, crappy tech help

The alarm was easy to setup, but when I migrated to a new network, the alarm was unable to complete Wi-Fi connection process, after a factory default reset. Customer service escalated to tier 2 when I called the first time, promising a return phone call or email. I have yet to hear back from Tech help. Total junk, please stay away!

I need to replace 6 smoke/co detectors. My requirement was Apple HomeKit integration, and to my surprised, this is the only model that does it. This detector is soo dumb it is shame that they call it smart. Great Smart Product

I have two of these First Alert alert detectors in my home. I will be converting the other 3 detectors in my home. The app was easy to use and I was able to connect it to my Apple Homekit very easily. I really like that each detector you add connects to the others and they work together. I ran a test and when I made the smoke detector go off in one room it lets you know what room has the issue and the other detectors tell you that information. Get beyond programming. Works great/functional

Would of been 5 Stars but had initial programming issues. Install of the actual device was easy. Programming had glitches and was initially frustrating. Called company for assistance, they were helpful. Discovered we needed to install & PROGRAM one alarm at a time. App is functional, light birghtness is adjustable. Of course we will see over time how alram actually works.

So many false alarms

These were easy to install. Our family was excited to have an extra layer of protection in our home. Then came the torment. These alarms have gone off so many times. My kids no longer exit the house. They come to me and tell me to turn it off. My younger kids wake up from naps in complete terror. Oh and when it comes to shutting them off, the buttons don’t work.
