Redesign Does Not Work in Wall or Ceiling Intakes

I only ever buy filters every few years. I just restocked and am extremely dissatisfied with the redesigned version of these filters. Instead of the standard square/box edge, the new egde is beveled. I used these for many years with no issues. Now they brag on the fact that there's no metal mesh to support them like they're saving the planet or something. In reality they've made them with less and cheaper materials and the price is higher. They are so loud and restrictive that I will no longer buy them. Horribly Noisy

Thought I was buying a good brand, but these are the worst ever. I bought better filters last time via HD and won't buy these again. Now very thin and mesh blocks air flow

I bought a yrs worth of new plastic mesh basic sized 16x20. Am sorry I did. The filters are now PAPER THIN, nothing like the paper before all these yrs. Also, THE TIGHTLY WOVEN PLASTIC MESH BLOCKS FLOW! A few distant rooms did not feel up to par, so I put thin paper towel strip up, barely moved. And I could not hear the air flow there to begin with. Mixed opinion on these BASIC filters

We wanted a very basic (ie, low MERV number) 14x30 filter for our return vents to screen out the larger debris as the air circulated back to the furnace. These filters fit very well into the cavity of our vents, and the air appeared to flow well through them. On the down side: as other have mentioned, the arrow indicating direction of air flow is the exact opposite of what I have experienced over my 5 decades of replacing filters. What's up with that? Price is a joke

The price of these filters are a joke! This is not a Lowes issue, it is the manufacturer. These filters are nothing but flimsy cardboard and little paper and wire. They should cost about $4.00 instead of over $10. If congress wants to investigate something, then have them start with 3M as to why these filters from them and other competitors are crazy high.

I have 4 furnaces in my home and I have noticed that with the higher rated filters I have to change them more like every 30 days and not the 90 days they talk about. They capture everything!
