Product quality and features changed

Purchased my first Electrolux washer & dryer in 2009, Wave Touch Turquoise. I was truly impressed with the heavy duty quality of these machines and the wonderful features on them. I did a lot of online research before I bought this washer and dryer pair. First I was going to get used on Craigslist, but when I started looking into different brands I never saw Electrolux used. Now I know why - I would move these to wherever I went. I wash down comforters, blankets with ease using the whitest white setting. Faulty Lint Filter

Lint filter came out while drying clothes. I heard the banging and was surprised to find the lint filter in with my clothes and unfortunately socks were down in the path of the air flow exhaust. I retrieved socks put the lint trap back and chalked it up to me not putting it down. Started dryer, checked back in 5 minutes and all was good. I headed upstairs. I was so excited to use my new Electrolux Washer and Dryer. We recently finished the construction of our new home and our contractor just installed our appliances. While drying my 3rd load of laundry, I heard a sound like a gun going off. Clothing had wrapped around the end of longer arm inside the dryer. Get an extended Warranty, you'll need it

I bought this machine and the matching washer a year ago and they are the worst machines I have owned. The Washer is incredibly loud and shakes the whole house even when it is on the slowest spin speed setting. The dryer's giant lint trap will dislodge when a zipper grabs it. It is constantly pulling out and the machine does not have a sensor that will stop the cycle. It sucked some clothes through and destroyed the impeller. Worst dryer I have ever owned

I need to preface this review by saying that I needed a washer that had the door hinge on the right. Electrolux was the ONLY brand to offer that. Secondly, I had chosen the 517 model. But when I ordered, it was no longer available. This 527 model is what the appliance store substituted for me. We've had this dryer a little over a month now and overall I'm happy with it. I use the sensor setting most of the time and I usually have to run it a while longer to get things completely dry. This is probably because my loads have a mix of heavy and light fabric items. But my last dryer seemed to dry them ok so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
