After using the commercial string trimmer for long term use, I am very disappointed. It should work fine for residential use if you are willing to pay the high price tag. misleading description

I returned it on receiving it. My one star rating has nothing to do with the trimmer but with the misleading description on Lowe's website. The description--which I believe Ego also uses--says that this commercial version uses the same 56-volt battery as its other tools. I have four other of their tools, so I expected to be able to use my battery. Best Built String Trimmer Currently Available.

This trimmer may not have the highest rpm or the largest cut diameter but the build quality is better than anything else out there. The all metal trigger, the aluminum housing around the motor and the carbon finer shaft are a step above the competition. Even the gas units use plastic triggers and motor housings.!This is also very light. It is lighter than some of the offerings from Ego’s residential line. Not so great for long term investment

Bought 56V weedeater about 5 years ago. Started off as a 5 star in the beginning but now I give it a 5. As time goes by so does the battery. I have 2 56v batteries for my weedeater and they both only last (after 5 yrs of use) 15 to 20 min each. I'm sure the batteries will continue to deteriorate as more time passes.

Weed Trimmer - same old crap string head technolog

Good luck replacing the string feeder when it is depleted. And good luck finding a useful video for it, or a sales place where anyone has been trained on how to to that. Using the same tech from 30-years ago which was lame then.

I went strapless for awhile

I wish you would have included the strap to the trimmer! I would have paid more for the complete package. I feel it really does need one!! By not including one you made me research if one is available, where I can buy it, pay and wait for it separately.

Commercial String Trimmer

I like the power but it is a bit heavier than the residential ones. I put the 7.4 amp battery in the back pack and it last up to an hour of non stop trimming. I love this machine.

Backpack (sold separately) required!

Another nice EGO tool! Easy to use and well-balanced. Requires backpack to attach battery. Works with blade (additional accessory) for brush trimming - which was why we bought it.

E GO TRIMMER - FIRST TIME USERS

I'm very impressed with the power and longevity of run time on a full charge. I'm very happy so far. I only used the trimmer one time so far but I put it to the test. SO FAR, SO GOOD!!!!

blade question

I have used a ST1520S for years works great. No problems what so ever. I am wondering if this unit will convert to a bush cutter ego blade?
