Extremely happy with my first battery chainsaw

I have been using commercial level Stihl Chainsaws for many years. I investigated getting a battery operated chainsaw for limbing and smaller stuff. A friend suggested the EGO. After some research I chose the 1611 16" saw. I love it. Good power and good battery time. It was perfect for 2 hours of cutting branches off of sid downed cedar trees. So mush easier than gas.

CS1800 chainsaw

Purchased CS1800 from Lowes Dec 2025. Did not begin to use it until late April of 2026. I was using it on a felled tree trunk having about a 3 ft diameter. The battery would die out after about a half hour. And it would take about 3 hours to recharge fully. I did not see that as a show stopper but something I wish I had known before I bought it. Battery lasted longer than I did on 100 degree day

I purchased this saw to remove a tree that had fallen onto the service line to my house. Running the saw for approximately an hour in 100° heat, I can honestly say that the charge on the saw lasted longer than I did. When I stopped cutting, I did have to wait approximately 30 minutes for the battery to cool down before it would charge again, but it was only around an hour total to get back to a full charge. The performance was excellent and I've been very happy with the purchase.

Good saw!

Just purchased a week or so ago the 16 inch with 56 volt batter and charger. First chainsaw with battery I have owned so still getting the feel. But good power, battery charged quickly. Love the new way to adjust chain tension. Handles easily. No engine noise, love that. Cuts great. Getting more jobs around my place lined up. Looks like the start of a good relationship.

Quiet. No mess.

Bought a few weeks ago. Haven’t used it very much but so far very pleased. Quiet. Good battery run time. No more mixing gas and oil.

It cuts great for the stuff around my and is awesome for the weight it’s pretty lightweight I haven’t had any kickback yet

I LOVE not having to fight starting this saw!

I bought this saw a couple of weeks ago, and it's pretty awesome. I am actually surprised at how much power it has, and the cutting is very smooth. I have had zero kickback in using it so far, and put a LOT of hours on it already. We had a huge limb fall off one of our trees, and took a full day to cut it and pile up the wood. I will say the smaller 2.5 amp battery that comes with it will be fine for smaller jobs, but for larger limbs (like I have), the larger capacity battery works much better...

Safety, powerful, and Ergonomically fantastic tool

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing. Leaders were several gas engine saws and the larger (20”) EGO. I own 2-1/2 acres of lodge pole and Douglas fir property with a lot of deadfall. I finally decided the lighter 16” EGO could handle most of the work. I also bought a highly rated hand sharpener and small bench vice. I’ve owned EGO equipment for 10 years. I love how light and quiet the saw is. I wish the battery had a longer charge and that it could be recharge quicker. I do like the saw and will continue to use it.
