From lawn mowers to the chain saws and the power head with attachments I’ve used and abused their products and I can say confidently with 10+ years of hard use they make great stuff that holds up. I still have the 16” chain saw that I’ve been cutting all my firewood since 2016 and it still works great. The new 18 was an addition for larger logs.

Great Battery Powered Chainsaw
The Ego Power+ 18 inch chainsaw is great for limbing and bucking small diameter down blow and other storm debris. I've only used it once so far, in the week and a half I've had it. I took care of two balsam fir trees that fell down during a storm. I was bucking 6 inch diameter rounds for the stem of the tree. The chainsaw is easy and comfortable to use. Good homeowners saw
Compared to the 18” poulon pro this is replacing, I wasn’t able to bog the Ego down at all. Cut though with no problems. Was concerned with there not being a full case that I’d end up with bar oil all over, but however they setup the automatic oil system, it doesn’t leak between uses. Really happy with my purchase.

This is a useless saw
I'm on my second saw. The first one was DOA after the first use of cutting down a 16" dia. maple. EGO replaced it under warranty. The replacement was DOA after taking down an 18" dia. pine. Waiting to see was service finds wrong with the unit. All in all I got roughly 4 hours of use out of each saw. Save your money

Order Pick -Up
Ordered an EGO Chain Saw. At pick up the box was pretty beat up but the desk personnel said all was good. Kind of embarrassing to give a gift in that condition. A lot of clear tape used to keep it together. Opened it on Father's day and found that some of the internal packaging may be missing. Instructions, warranty etc. all missing. Will be returning today. 😒

Ego Awesome - Lowe's not so much
Haven't used the saw yet but I'm sure it'll be great just like all my other Ego gear - a presumtive 5 stars. However, Lowe's is another story. Not sure what's going on with this company but it's nothing good. Saw was advertised on 11/30 for $249 online, good through 12/24 and showed 4 in stock locally. Drove to store, grabbed it and went through the self checkout. Price came up $399, which necessitated the attendant to call for an override supervisor. He manually put in the $249 but when I used ...
Chain is too tight
I've only used the saw for maybe 20 minutes now, but so far, I'm loving it. It cuts great, and with an adequately sized battery is very powerful. The 2.5 AH battery works, but overheats on hard cuts. It's pretty heavy. With a larger battery its as heavy as my gas chainsaw, but I still like it a lot. I don't consider the chain tightening mechanism to be tool free. By itself, it tightens the chain WAY too tight! I put a screwdriver or something between the bar and the chain while using the tool...

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking
True story, my wife is coming up the driveway and ran over the saw trying not to hit my "limousine" aka zero-turn. Outside of a crack in the housing the saw works great. Got it in the fall of 25 to replace the blue battery saw that quit working after about 3 years. Plenty of power and battery run time for me. At 70, when the battery runs out it's time to sit down and rest while it charges.

Has served me well but recently stopped working.
I have been very pleased with the power and capability of this battery-powered chain saw. I've used it many times since it's purchase. Recently, the unit just stopped working. I'm guessing an electrical component inside the tool failed. I haven't contacted EGO yet, but I will soon. They have a 3-year warranty of their products, so I assume this will get fixed.
