Better than......

Still getting used to my new 15" Ego string trimmer. It's certainly an upgrade from my older, gas powered trimmer. Much lighter, much easier to reload the string and the battery charge is great (I have 3 Ego tools using the same battery). But not as easy to "trim" vertically as my previous tools. Maybe I just need to use it more. The angle of the trimmer head makes it a bit awkward to cut a clean line vertically.

My son brought a string trimmer about 7 or 8 years old. he replace the head one time. Now I am looking a the newest trimmer the arc something. I use the weed eat I just nee ti find one there alot are wanting this trimmer.my sone had to get to use this trimmer . i stand by my word I like this trimmer well the older trimmer. I am 70 years ole I can handle this trimmer. Not a gas one to heavy. I am looking for a new trimmer as soon as I can find one. I let you know if I like I am sure I will.

Great product

I don’t usually post reviews but gotta give credit where credit is due. This is the best weed eater I have ever used. The self winding option is simple and works great. After starting a two acre project and much beer and drama I threw the old gas powered weed eater in the dirt and bought this. Put it to the test and it worked great. It did burn through the batteries but had some extra from previous purchases. Save yourself some drama and buy one of these you won’t regret it.

Device not good for first-time string trimmer user

This is the first string trimmer I have owned. EGO did not appear to have an online training session for people like me. That was a disappointment. I watched YouTube videos to get the hang of it. My first try was a little rough. I couldn’t get the string to extend - dropped the head on the ground several times but got no results

Great Strong Trimmer

I bought it a couple weeks ago and I’ve used it in the yard and it has plenty of power cuts down, thick vegetation, and the battery last a long time the auto string load feature is nice very nice. A lot lighter and easier to handle than my gas trimmer and doesn’t fatigue my hands as much overall very satisfied.

Great until old line gets stuck

I bought this. It’s the second season. It works great until you use up the line. It goes inside and you can’t get it out unless you take the head apart apparently.

Excellent trimmer

I have had this about two weeks and am stunned by how powerful it is. This last two days I used it to mow a field that is too wet for a tractor or mower. I had to swap out batteries, but since I have a few, that was no big deal. I love the self loading feature for the trim line.

Bad Design

We purchased an EGO 15-in String Trimmer from Lowe's and purchased a 3-yr protection plan. All BIG mistakes. First, never purchase an extension on EGO products. They give a 5-year warrantee that prevents using the Lowe's 3-year plan before you talk to EGO to fix the problem. We had this unit for about 1 year and only used it about 15 times. It always had a problem with using too much string. It finally stopped working on May 25, 2025. It feed about 22" of string once tapped. The unit is as good ...

Misled, but still nice.

Carbon fiber is nice, The disappointing part is when I had bought it, 2021, the pictures were not as clear as they are now, and the picture online and on the box showed the trimmer in two pieces, leading me to believe the drive was a shaft drive that allowed for other attachments. Well, the box and images were the way they were for smaller retail storage maybe. The shaft needed to be bolted together and the drive is just at the head with a coated wire harness running the length of the shaft. ...

Light and powerful

I have a decent size yard and this trimmer is able to do it all with that small and light battery. It's light enough that I can turn it on its side and edge along cement and objects, which can take me quite a while. I often do parts of my neighbor's yard since my battery still has power to spare. I also appreciate how easy it is to feed new string. Just thread it through the two holes, make the lengths of string are even, and press the Powerload button. The string is pulled in and ready to go...
