I bought this from Lowe’s when they had a sale. My first use was to do some cutting on a pistol holster to modify it to fit one of my guns. The Dremel and I completed the task very well. As I was using the Dremel, I was amazed that is was so easy and did the job so well. I also sanded some of the rough edges and it performed perfectly. Honestly, I don’t know how I got along without the Dremel! Excellent Product.

What Would I Do Without It ???
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First thing's first...the Dremel 4000 is not my first Dremel. This was actually purchased as a replacement for a much older, cheaper, and not-as-feature-laden model. The only options "old" model had was off/low/high. And, truth-be-told, I rarely used it. After having owned it for several years, even though it had rarely been used, and I knew I needed to 'upgrade'...and, upgrade I did - to the 4000-series. Not only did it come with a great ...

A good working tool after a few glitches
I purchased this tool about three weeks back. We have a 40 yr old home and it is in need of some repairs and I bought this Dremel 4000 to use as a router. Our kitchen cabinets had the drawer support rollers wearing out and I wanted to replace those with undermount slides. To do this renovation I needed to cut reliefs on the back side of the face frames of the drawer openings so I was in need of a rather small router. I own a number of routers including a laminate trimmer, but none were small en...

Extremely versatile
I have been wanting a Dremel for years and am very happy with the 4000 as my first model. I mostly use it for my art and for household repairs and improvement. I am impressed with all the after market attachments available and I am pleased to know my 4000 is compatible with pretty much any attachment I might need. It is a bit overwhelming for a beginner. I feel the website could use a little more in the way of instructions on what each bit is used for. Yes, I know this one is for grinding, bu...

Just the power I was looking for.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my 4000 in June of 23 to use alongside my Dremel 4300. I do carving and use the flex shaft attachment. After breaking a few flex shafts, I realized that they always seem to break at the shaft end when they get too hot, which is about 2 hours of continuous use. I think the heat weakens the inner core of the flex shaft, and it snaps. So now I use the 4300 for an hour, then switch to the 4000. Problem solved. Something I also noticed...

A great tool for many projects
I received the Dremel 4000-4/34 Dremel tool kit. As I am a modeler and general tinkerer, this tool has come in handy many times. From cutting off a broken nail or polishing metal parts. As a model car hobbyists, I am always grabbing my Dremel to chop, channel, grind or sand. It makes doing the harder jobs, easier. I am really enjoying the EZ TWIST accessory. It makes the swapping of tools very easy. Just pull down on the EZ LOCK mandrel and swap your sanding disc. The detailer’s grip has made it...

great tool but prone to overheating
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'd definitely give this a five star review except mine is currently inoperable. This thing is a beast when working, far and away the most powerful handheld rotary tool I've worked with. Unfortunately mine overheated so im actuallly here ordering parts for it. Really its a good design though, if it overheats it blows a little fuse on the brush holder assembly rather than allowing the tool to burn up. And in fairness i do carve wood with t...

How did I get along without it?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have heard about rotary tools for a long long time but never though I needed one. When I started repairing guitars I watched many youtube videos where people where using the dremel rotary tool and figured it could be useful. I didn't realize how useful and for so many different uses until I had it in my hands. I wouldn't ever want to be without it again.

Does what every rotary tool should
I bought this to replace an older "knock off" brand (non-Dremel) rotary tool. The Dremel 4000 works great. The best feature (not present in any of the Dremel cordless models) is its ability to maintain a constant speed under load, even at lower RPMs - no more guessing at what speed to set the tool before starting (tools without this feature will slow down, or stop at slow settings after starting jobs like grinding or sanding). I also like the sanding/grinding guide attachment. This makes it much...
