Great product terrible shipping

Great cordless sander. The bundle was a fantastic deal. Again Liwes shipping failed. When i ordered it on Saturday evening i was told it would be here on Tuesday, then i was updated the next morning that it would arrive on Wednsday, it finally arrived on Thursday. I ordered it to complete a project needless to say the projectvwas delayed.

There's a lot to like about the Dewalt Variable Speed Random Orbital sander. As a random orbit sander, it functions as it should. The bonus is that it's cordless. I was concerned that the 2ah battery might not be sufficient, but it has enough oomph for most jobs around the workshop. A second battery would be good to have for large jobs. Great product, but not for every job.

Short version: great sander, not-so-great battery life. I bought this sander to re-finish my house's fascia, which meant being on top of a 10' ladder the entire time. A corder sander would have been a pain, so I opted for a cordless model. It did a great job, is quiet, and is lightweight enough to make using it really easy. Check the manufacturer dates on the product

Sander is ok for light duty. Check the packing date on the box when they sent it it was already a year old and the stamp on the battery was 2 years old!

XR orbital sander

For my first Dewalt power tool, i like it. Not great run time on a 2ah battery, but thats usually how it goes with kit batteries. But at $99, im good with that. So far its done everything ive asked of it, and its done it well. It comes with a multivolt charger, so thats a plus too. The tool itself is light and has the ergonomics Dewalt is known for. If i have ne gripe, its that the on/off switch can be a bit difficult, but its sealed so no dust can get in, so its something easily overlooked.

An excellent sander

I have used Dewalt products for many years, and I have not been disappointed. I find that they are very well built and hold up well in use. I used to own a cheap sander and it made so much noise, I had to wear ear protection to use it. This sander is well built and much, much quieter. I only buy battery operated tools anymore as they are incredibly convenient. I have found that even if you don’t use a tool for a prolonged period of time, the batteries tend to maintain charge. Included Battery runs out of juice really fast

Battery that it came with in the set purchased runs out of juice really really quickly. I can't even get 10 min of sanding in without it running out of battery and having to stop and recharge it. I had hoped that the XR would provide longer battery life. Definitely need to buy extra batteries. Other than that, I would probably say the sander itself is good (but it is hard to say because I have to keep stopping the process to recharge the battery to get a true feel).

Great sander. I, of course love the cordless. I am more apt to grab it off the shelf and use it for small things. I also love the brake, which means I can set it down pretty much as soon as I switch it off, without having it walk off the table. So far battery life seems quite good, even with a 2Ahr battery, but I kept my plug in one as well just in case I have a project that requires hours of sanding.
