Great, until i needed service

Bought heavy unit (92 lbs) not quite 3 years ago. Used it carefully to clean up wood. Generally it worked well. Replaced blades after 1 year. Used for light, occasional home use on weekends. Then a horrible shaking, clanking began when power was on. Carefully took it apart and the 2 screws holding the cutter roller left end support were loose. Ex optional product at a competitive price

When you see you tubers say how great a tool is, I always wonder how much they were paid to say that. Well this one exceeded what I hoped it would be! I have been using a Cutech box planer I got off marketplace, I completely fixed it up and changed all the spiral cutting blade and it has been working well. But the straight knives in this Dewalt just blowes it out of the water!! Almost no tear out or snipe compared to the Cutech. I didn't buy mine new, but dont buy a new lunch box planer,...

Great planer

Have had this planer for 3 yrs. And still going strong. Only negative comment I have is the blades tend to dull quickly vs mu old Delta 2 blade planer I sometimes still use. Thought about the helical head but at 1/2 the price of the planer it is a hard choice.

First planer - so far good.

So far I like a lot of features of this planer. My first power planer, so I am being extra cautious. Design is well done for the most part and function is great on the first sample I ran through it. I was on the point of giving it five stars but there is always room for improvement. Someone pointed out the exiting-side metal apron hits the exhaust port when folded but if the planer is extended to full height it does not hit. Typical Dewalt built product. Reliable,heavy duty. Pays for itself fast when buying rough lumber

Have only had this a couple of weeks and it works as good as expected. The chip ejection is fantastic and the finish quality is amazing.

Great Improvements

Heavy duty complete machine. I had a 12-1/2 inch Dewalt for 10 years and now have this 13 inch. Some good improvements include 2 cut speeds and neutral for cleaning rollers. I look forward to owning this machine for many years to come.

Easy to set up

The planer had almost no setup out of the box and was quick to understand. A dust collector with a 4" hose is highly recommended in a shop setting. Shopvacs won't work. Also the chip ejector is pretty powerful. So if you're outdoors, no problem.

I would recommend this dewalt 735x planer.

Well I just got it out of the box and set it up but haven't used it yet but my buddy has one just like it and used his and I love it so thats why I bought one very nice. But I will say one thing you need to buy the stand whitch is sold separately. I didn't buy one now i have to get one soon.

Above my expectations!

It does everything that I wanted and more. It's easy to use. I never used a planer before, so it's easy for a novice woodworker.
