Good but tough, laborious work.
I've been using thickness planers for nearly 40 years, and I know them inside and out. In short, a good machine eats the top of a board while you stand back and watch, and will do so quickly, and without too many passes. Put all such expectations aside with these contractor jobsite toys! This planer has very accurate settings, cuts very smoothly, and is rugged and portable for limited jobsite use, say, for a finish carpenter needing to fabricate stock on site. It's also sufficient for the ...
Works Great!
Tools works well and does what it is supposed to!!
Broke after 18 months
Switch went bad. Have sent in to warranty and they have had it for almost two weeks now and I cannot get any update. ZERO Update - so far I am rating Dewalt support at a negative 5. I have tried emails and just get the same responses with no help. Support ticket -no support. Phone number it hangs up on me.
Poor Experience With Dewalt and Planer
The planer worked well at first, but issues began to arise. I bought this planer and used it occasionally for making furniture for my home. After about 6-7 months, the rollers stopped moving the wood properly, causing damage to the material. The alignment was also off and would not stay level, no matter what I tried. I contacted DeWalt for assistance, and they instructed me to send the planer to their repair center. The estimated repair time was over six weeks, and I’ve seen others on social me...

I wasn't sure, but I'm hooked
I was on the fence about spending this much on a bench top planer but it's worth every penny! Smooth finishes, easy to use, and built like a tank. I use it for woodworking and my husband uses it for carpentry—now neither of us can imagine working without it. One of the best tools we’ve ever bought.
this workhorse can be converted to helical head
great value and quality at this pricepoint
Must have spares
The Dewalt planer blades work well and easy to install. They are very sharp out of the box. They do last a while depending on the type of wood. Of course they will dull with use and more so with hard wood such as maple. I've run hundreds of board feet with one set, but you do need to check for staples and debris. If you do get a chip, just slide one blade over. You can do again before flipping the blades to other side. I've thought of getting a more expensive blade set, but they will pro...
Fantastic Planer for the DIY Woodworker
* Excellent Dewalt product, even though Dewalt dropped in quality a little since 2010 when Stanley Works merged with Black & Decker to form Stanley Black & Decker whom also own Dewalt, this is one of their better engineered tools. * Solid foundation with minimal end snipe, purchase the optional feed tables, Amazon carries them as well for around $45, well worth the addition to a great tool. * For the cost of the DEWALT DW7350 Planer Stand with Integrated Mobile Base ($138 on Amazon) you can buil...
Its heavy, 92bls.
We owned a Grizzly 12" Planner Molder back 20 some years ago. My grandfather paid $1000 for it. today that same planner is probably north of $1500. I say this because this planer though, can't do moldings is on the same level if not a bit higher than the Grizzly when it comes to planning boards efficiently, for a fraction of the cost. The depth control is a 1/16th a full turn so planning boards to thickness is easy. The instructions are not clear how to change speeds, I could not get it to shift...
Very easy to install, lasts a long time
Perfect fit, easy to install -- I'm new to tabletop planers and these have registration holes to ensure they're in the exact correct position and it's foolproof. I appreciate that they were designed so that you can flip them before needing to order a replacement set. I'm cutting mostly spruce and fir so they last an incredibly long time before needing to flip them.
