Precise Finger Control-The Best.

This measuring tape has a strong snap-back that is precisely controlled by your finger. Better yet it stays straight for a extremely long distance, making it the best single persone measuring device, short of a laser. Note for the developers: Add the measuring annotations on both sides (but inversed) so a single person can truly use this my themselves.

Disappointed

I really like Crescent tools but this one really hit a nerve . Wouldn't retract after a week and never was dropped. I assume its the magnets . I really hope this flaw was fixed

Well-featured, professional use!!

I use a tape measure personally-I'm in a trade, but it's more of a micrometer than a tape measure trade. This tape measure is feature-rich, and all the features work well- probably best for a professional. The tape is sturdy and doesn't flop easily, and has a nice matte finish. However, the lock pressing into the finish does leave a slight mark as you can see in the picture. Over time I think this would wear in, but it wouldn't affect the readability as it is in the middle part of the measure...

One of the better options in this price range

Best tape in this price range. I now have 3 of these to scatter around the job. I'd have rated it 5 stars and said it was the best tape measure ever, but it the end on my oldest has taken a beating and refuses to hang on to what I hook it to. Otherwise it has held up to drops off of roofs, through ceilings, off scaffolding so it can definitely take a beating. I like it.

Not the best design

First, this thing is quite sturdy. Second the hook design is very good and a magnet away from being outstanding. The bad comes when you try to lock the tape. The stop on the inside of the tape, the part that presses down on the tape to hold it in place, gets damaged by the rivets that hold the hook in place. Solid tape with a little room for improvement

The 35' Crescent Lufkin tape has some great qualities and some room for improvement. The 35' length is wonderful and can definitely make larger jobs easier than shorter tapes. The extra large print and matte finish are also great features and make the tape super easy to read. My two favorite things about the tape are the fingertip control and the 360 degree end hook, which are seemingly small additions my other tapes don't have, but have proven to be very useful. Great warranty

Great tape that does what you need it to do. The locking mechanism stopped working on mine, so I submitted a warranty claim. A week later, a replacement tape showed up in the mail. I don't expect tools to be perfect, but I do expect a company to stand by their products. Crescent Lufkin / Apex proved to me that they do, and I'll always remember that.

not heavy duty

I've had this tape measure about 6 months and liked it, but yesterday I realized it was reading 1/16th off. I examined it and the hook had broken through the metal tape and was stuck in the exterior measurement position (adding 1/16 to all measurements instead of just exterior ones). I pulled the hook out of where it was stuck and shortly after, the tear it had made in the tape measure spread, and the head tore off. Had to toss it, unfortunately.

Convenient & Useful Tape

I like tape measures, and I like having lots of them around. I've got expensive 35' footers and dirt-cheap short ones. A tape measure always seems to be on the other side of a job site when I need one, so I like having spares around all over the place.
