What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this grill for exceptional cooking performance, durability, and value. Most highlight even heating, quick heat-up times, and precise temperature control that outperforms pricier models. Many report owning it for years with regular use, with some purchasing multiple times after their previous units wore out. The heavy-duty construction, ceramic finish, side burner, and external thermometer enhance versatility and consistent results. Assembly is time-consuming and occasionally frustrating, and a few note minor issues like igniter problems or rusting on the bottom pan. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider it an outstanding value and reliable long-term investment.

I've had this grille for 11 years now and use it a lot and it's fine except a few parts: the edge of the grill where the grates sit and the clips where the burner covers rest. So I'm not an expert, but I painted all of the parts except the burners and grates with 2000 degree + ceramic engine paint when the grille was new. Those rusting parts I would give more coats in the future. I also connected a flexible metal tube to the drain pan into a pop bottle to catch the liquids.
Nice grill at a great price
First the assembly. I'm pretty handy but the assembly was slow - mostly because I failed to follow the first instruction about needing two people. That said, once past the initial assembly of the frame and legs, the rest is fairly easy for one person. Just follow the instructions and look at the drawings carefully. I'm a long time griller but this is my first Char-Griller. The finished grill with all bolts tightened is very sturdy. A set bolt locks in the propane tank; important if you move your...

So glad to have my baby back.
First off, I'm 55 and have been grilling and smoking meats for over 35 years. I have owned a plethora of various grills and smokers in that time. I purchased my original CharGriller Pro 3001 2010 and used it multiple times a week for about 10 years. Sadly, after replacing the burner covers, after a year with stainless steel ones, and 3 igniters in the 10 years of ownership, the grill started to show it's age, which was about 3 times as long as any other gas grills I've ever owned. Against my bet...

After 10 years of using, happy to purchase it again
I purchased original 3001 model back in 2008. It was very inexpensive and much more durable < $600 models that come in thin stainless metal body. The E3001 is hard as rock. I always have a cover on it to protect from elements. I also keep it in the garage during the winter months. After 10 years, the support brackets rusted through and couldn't be replaced (welded to body). Once I started the assembly of new grill, I was pleasantly surprised to see all the small improvements First of all, the ne...

Sturdy grill.
I just received the grill and put it together and only ran it for a few minutes. It got hot immediately which is what I was looking for. It took a little under two hours to put together but I had a friend help me that is better looking at the illustrations than reading the directions. Me...I'm better with reading directions so it worked really well. The packaging was fine. The grill came in good condition with the exception of a bent chimney. We tried to get it straight but it's still a little b...

Good grill for the cost
I really like this grill. It has consistent heat, few hot spots and easy to move around. The material seems sturdy but the legs and wheels are a bit rickety. The assembly was pretty straightforward and we had it together in around an hour and a half. There are a few reasons I am not rating it 5 stars. 1. The punch-outs for the rotisserie were not cut correctly. The welds were very solid and it dented and damaged the grill to remove them. 2. The lid handle can get really hot. The rotisserie requi...

Finally a year after owning it review.
So I've had this grill for a year now. I do have to say it was easy to set up and I was able to grill in no time. For the price it works well. Some cons that I have noticed are as follows: -This grill gets hot there is no in between it just gets hot, even if you set it to low. You're either hovering around 550 or super low, no in between. -make sure you get a cover for the grill. Due to its round shape if it gets rained on, the rain water will run down into the grease tray and will overflow it s...

Continued Product Quality
Kids are out of the house and our 15+ year old Char-Griller dual charcoal/lp grill needed burners and burner covers plus it is a big unit for two seniors. The 3001E fit all of our needs for smoking and grilling. Grill came to us in 3 days, packaging was extraordinary with all contents in great shape. I assembled it by myself and took about 45 minutes, but I am very particular. Key note is to assemble everything up to and including the bottom, then while on a level surface start by tightening the...

Loving it so far...
My last inexpensive grill only lasted 20 months in the Southwest Florida humidity. After many weeks of research I decided on this CharGriller model. I think I made a good choice. The grill arrived on time and packaged extremely well. Even with the great packaging one smoke stack was slightly bent at the top, but was easy enough to straighten by hand. Assembly was easy, but I spent about three hours doing so because I coated everything with vegetable oil as I went, including screws in the hope th...
