Craftsman has become so bad Lowes does not except returns. You have to go through craftsman's service, take it to a craftsman mechanic who determines if it was preventable and then after all that you can take it to lowes. You have to front the mechanic costs and hope Craftsman will reimburse you. I returned this weed eater 2 times already over a single summer until they changed policy this year. I would have given up after the first one but I had money sunk into attachments. This last time oil ...
No premixture of gas and oil required
Had brought one a few years back then had to move had to sell mine. When using was easy to fill not mixing of gas and oil. Just make sure you have correct oil level and gas and go.

Have 2, one a pole saw, one a weed eater. Both less than 30 hours combined. Both quite working. No spark. Junk equipment. Don't buy. They are cheap for a reason.

This one is very powerful and there fore makes it a great product for my overgrown property. The only con is that it is heavy. Which I know it has to be. But great Product!

Worst trimmer Ive ever owned.
If you want to spend more time jacking around with the trimmer than trimming, buy this thing. For the life of me, I cannot get the trimmer head to feed correctly. The line breaks off inside the head and I spend 20 minutes getting it dug out. My yard takes maybe 20 minutes to trim total. Literally I spend more time working on this lovely machine than I do trimming.

this is my 2nd ws4200 , bought this in 2024 and the spring of 2025 stopped working eventhough we barely use it in our home . called the warranty and told me that bring to the shop if theres nothing wrong then you.re out of luck. its been sitting in the garage since then. oil leak , not starting. the warranty really sucks

My second Craftsman string trimmer
This is my second Craftsman string trimmer, the first lasted almost 5 years. I only had this one a month, but so far, I'm pleased. It's easy to start and meets my requirements.

Great trimmer for the price.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this for 3-4 years. No issues. Change the oil, spark plug, and air filter every spring. All of the issues that give this a bad review are unbelievable. It works just fine. I would buy another but when this one dies I’ll move to battery powered blower. It’s all about preventative maintenance and the gasoline use you. Use ethanol free gas when you can find it. I would definitely recommend.
