What Customers Are Saying
The product received mixed reviews. Some customers found it to be a powerful and easy-to-use tool, while many reported significant reliability issues. Common problems included difficulty starting and keeping the saw running, the chain frequently coming off, and poor quality of the plastic components. On the positive side, some praised its performance in cutting large branches, as well as its quiet operation. However, the overall sentiment suggests the reliability and durability concerns outweigh the product's strengths.

I've only used this product once so more and the only shortcoming that I found is that it needs to be a little better balanced. Tends to be top heavy and tiring after several minutes of use. Starts easily and runs very smoothly.

Total junk
Only had this a week used it once hardly could cut thru a 1.5” limb then went to use it again and wouldn’t start had to work on it to get it running then wouldn’t stay running returning tomorrow
Craftsman Gas Pole Saw
Way better than the electric. Gives a smoother, quicker cut. Have not had issues with the chain. Would recommend to buy the gas powered the first time over the battery powered.

Works with Ryobi attachments.
This item utilizes the Ryobi attachments I had already. Tried purchasing an online only item a couple weeks before and went through every effort possible to make sure it would use the same attachments, but did not. Sorry I had to return that item but wound up buying this power head with the Pole saw. Used the power head within a day of receiving with an old blower attachment, not any quieter than my Ryobi, but runs sweet.

Same Starting Problem
Same starting problems as other reviews. I tried starting this pole saw recently after not using it last year. After a bit of pulling, I finally got it started. It would idle fine but when I started to open the throttle it would die. After a while I could open full throttle but it ran like it was in idle mode. May be a carb or fuel filter problem but it is practically brand new. It should run as if new. Sounds like a manufacturer problem. Even though they will not admit even if so. I am taking t...
Needs Adjustment
I followed the starting instructions and the engine started easily. It was not long before I realized that no amount of warm up time, position of the choke, or the throttle position was going to matter as the engine would not rev above about half throttle. The carburetor was woefully out of tune and needed a unique tool to make adjustments to the needles. After devising a method to adjust the high and low settings I was able to get the engine running great. Frustrating for a brand new tool, and ...
Bad oil tank
I got the polesaw all assembled, gas and oil put in it. Left it sitting on my work bench and in 3 days I went to use it 1/2 of the oil leaked out of the tank all over my work bench. This is the second one I've owned and the first one did the same thing.

Poor Quality
Bought this for pruning projects and should have known by name being Craftsman that it would be crap. IF you can handle pull starting something over 50 pulls to get it going, then you’re fine and this is the product for you. It does an ok job with power to cut. BUT, you have to get it going first and if you plan on taking a 5 minute break or you stop to tighten up the l chain, then be prepared to pull another 50 times. Have followed directions to the letter, besides that, not a stranger to gas ...
Worked great initially, now will not start
I am having the same issue that I am seeing others post about. Initially, this pole saw was fantastic, I used it heavily for a few months. Then, it’s sat in my garage through the rainy season when I couldn’t use it, and I took it out the spring to find that it cannot be started. It fires up, and then dies. I suspect whatever the underlying issue is, is similar to what other people are experiencing with this pole saw. I’ve tried some basic small engine troubleshooting, but not been able to solve ...
