What Customers Are Saying
The trimmer has a mixed reception, with some praising its power and ease of use in handling tall weeds and dense vegetation, while others report issues like the trimmer not shutting off, the cord not retracting, and the trimmer line coming off frequently. Some find it too heavy and difficult to maneuver, especially on hills and slopes, with a high center of gravity that makes it prone to tipping over. The overall consensus is that it is a capable machine when working properly, but the design and build quality issues can be a significant drawback for some users, especially on challenging terrain.

I'm so glad that I ignored the negative reviews and purchased this trimmer mower. Right out of the box, and filled with gas and with the included oil, it started literally on the first pull. No choke to deal with. There is no throttle control, and I worried about the engine bogging down on the monstrous task I was planning to put this machine through. But even though I half buried this thing in thick weeds in some soft dirt it never stalled out. Done with the tall grass and weeds, I said "what ...
So far it's fine,
It does what I would expect it to do, all of thees type mowers are a little high priced for what you get & a little flimsy, but they are easy to push around & my wife likes it to cut the grass with. I like it also just don't expect to much, it does work nice when used right, this is my 3rd. high wheel, so that says something, but I would like to make one just to see if I could build it better, (I'm sure I could), but would it really be worth my time. One thing is just don't get temped to go t...

5 Stars for Lowe's though! Kudos!
Item was ordered 05/24 and was on my front porch 05/25. Issues so far ... 3rd pull and the pull cord jammed up. I had to remove assembly and fix it. Doesn't explain how to start it. It does for a other models, not this one. Finally realized there was no way to shut it off once started so the handle must have to be held down to start and when released, the trimmer will shut off. This bothers me because once it starts, the trimmer head is engaged. I would prefer it to be like my old Craftsman Walk...

Easy
so I bought this thing yesterday 25 June 22. I have tons of trees and lots of yard. I was tired of the typical weed eater for hours. took about 10 min to take out of box and start up...easy. I immediately trimmed the 4 foot tall weeds at the driveway/ditch...easy. than I took this thing for a real spin. weeds, vines, old broken sticks and logs around the base of big fat trees...easy. took is around my newly planted trees...not easy. I learned after almost cutting a 2 yr wheeping willow in ha...
I do not recommend
It was very hard to pull the start cord and I never could get it started or even to sound like it might start, then I went to return it and they said i had to drain the gas i had put in and i asked for help because i already tried but could not get the fuel line off but they made me go back home and unload and drain it, I finally got it drained but never did get the fuel line off, it did not want to budge. I was looking at the mechanics of it and it was very rinky dink on such a nice engine whic...

Good machine
I have been using this for about a week now to get my 3/4 acre pasture back under control since I have not had any animals on it this year and it has been working great with everything I've thrown at it. I also like how it actually mulches the plants up as well. My only complaint is that in the description it says it has a certain amount of heights, but there is not any sort of markings for the set heights. You just have to loosen the wing nuts and slide the head up or down the tubing and you...
Hope it Does Not Require Warranty Service
I was only able to use the machine once. It was very good at mowing dense 2 foot tall green ground vegetation. Unfortunately the starter pull rope return did not work. I contacted Craftsman/MTD and they never responded to my e-mail. They do not have phone based customer support. There are 3 supposed warranty locations in my area. One is closed, one only works on equipment they have sold and one had a 2 week backlog and wanted a $50 deposit before they would look at it. I returned the ...

Good and Bad
I like a wheeled trimmer. No back ache. I have had 4 the last 10 years. The first was a Craftsman that ran till the wheels fell off cutting heavy brush. It had idle. This one does not. You have to hold the handle the whole time. Starting second year I had lots of trouble starting it. I can’t pull hard enough most of the time. No primer button. Had to start squirting gas in the carburetor to get it to start. That does work… lol. Once it gets going it takes out all the weeds gets close to the edge...
Product safety at its finest
Once again, some engineer designed something they rarely if ever use. Power head kill and engine kill are in the same lever. If you need to move something or pick it up, when you release the safety bar the head stops and the engine dies, which then means you need to restart the engine multiple times. Now they might say we did this for safety reasons so people wouldn't try to change the trimmer string with the engine running, but in fact, if the engine tips with the motor running it spews black s...
Powerful, starts easily
first the cons: the engine control lever must be depressed to start the engine. This is inconvenient when changing from one area to another. So either you stop and restart over and over or the trimmer line is constantly spinning while transiting different areas. (Not a good idea). Also on loose or moist soil the spindle digs into the soil and causes ruts. Lastly the I bolt for the starter rope was missing. Pros: I like the power. And though there is no throttle control it does not hesitate whil...
