Good solid tape measure. I bought this because it was on clearance per the website. The website listed only one remaining at my local Lowe's. Once at my local Lowe's I saw six on the shelf and purchased one. The next day I looked at the website and saw the same tape measure I purchased now in stock at my local Lowe's and the price marked up $6 more than my purchase price. Take what you will from my story, but I know I'm going to seriously limit my shopping at Lowe's.
Survived the Roadway
When I bought this product from Lowes, I thought it was not gonna last due to it being one of the cheaper options. However, it survived an unexpected trip and abuse all because I forgot it on the outside of the truck. Keep in mind that this thing was launched out into a busy traffic intersection at about 40mph and was then ran over by a passing vehicle before I could get to it to pick it up. Excellent tape measure
I always trust Craftsman for tools and this tape measure is no exception. Very well designed and easy to use. The lock clicks into place with no problem at all and it really is a wonderful tool to have with you always when doing work around the house.
A good tape at a good price.
At times a wider, larger tape measure is needed - but not always. This is smaller than most today and yet shows improvements from the last one I purchased.

Bends easily
It was the cheapest metal tape measure on the shelf and I didn’t need anything longer than 16ft for cutting trim. The end permanently bent pretty early on making accurate long measurements unreliable. It still got me within 3/8” to rough cut trim pieces before I had to dry fit in place and mark for fit.

Some good features
Solidly built, great retrieval mechanism. The tape stays out when pulled and is released by pushing in the bottom of the case. This is actually a very handy feature. Tape is wide and easy to read.
Tell everybody where you got one
The quick return is not going to tear the tape clip off. It is fast, but smooth. Sturdy and flexible. Put your name on it and keep it close (my kids fight over who's turn it is to use it)

I like the mechanism for releasing and holding the tape at its current position. I don't like that I'm not sure how long it'll last.
