What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise these tin snips for exceptional cutting performance and durability. Most highlight the sharp blades that cut through aluminum, sheet metal, vinyl siding, and ductwork effortlessly, delivering clean, precise edges. Reviewers commend the sturdy construction, comfortable ergonomic grip, and angled jaw design that enables controlled cuts in tight spaces. Many describe them as a long-term investment worth the money. A few note minor difficulties with curved surfaces or measurement markings wearing off, but these represent isolated concerns vastly outweighed by strong satisfaction.

I bought these to cut through and trim aluminum gutters, they did that. Today, I used these to cut up a set of metal shelves in my garage that had rusted bolt/nut connections. Cut up metal shelves like I was cutting through white bread with scissors
Aluminum 1 - Snips 0
I have briefly used these on 3 different occasions... 2 times to cut small pieces of aluminum flashing... They worked pretty well... The third time I pulled them out, I needed to snip a small aluminum section off of a gutter guard... The snips almost did it, but in the end, the gutter guard won. I had shied away from Craftsman years ago when their quality started dropping... This was my first time testing the waters with them in almost 20yrs... Sure the lifetime guarantee is nice, but it does...
I wanted to cut off a thin piece
I picked these out from a large display of various tin snips. They looked to be the thinnest and possibly enable me to cut off a thin strip from some flashing that was installed above a window I was replacing. They failed miserably. They did not cut straight, were bulky and pulled somewhat when they should have been cutting. I discarded them and used another tool which was more tedious, but actually got the job done. I will likely return them, but they cost less than $20 and might be useful...

Awful
I do metal stud framing so I tried to use them to cut metal studs, the straight snips by craftsman are pretty bad but they atleast will cut however and if your thinking about buying these particular ones for anything but simple house work they won’t work they hardly cut 33 GA metal they are garbage! Took them back immediately and I took back the straight snips these are not good snips spend fhe extra and get Midwest stay away from craftsman.

Solid pair of snips
I use these at work as an everyday carry in my nail bags, and they’ve been great! I cut metal roofing, some fasteners, and a lot of misc. flashing and such and they’re still sharp as the day I got them last year. The latch sometimes likes to come undone, but I’m not too picky. Solid tool for a good price

Not very strong...
I was trimming a section of 6 inch duct for an over-the-range microwave exhaust vent. I worked around the single layer of the duct, but the overlap "joint" appears to have been too much for these quality Craftsman snips. I will see if there is any warranty or replacement for this regular use issue. If not, I will continue building my tool collection via the USA made vintage Craftsman tools on (insert well known 4 letter auction site here).
Cuts Made Easier
I’ve been needing metal snips for a variety of reasons, however, I made this purchase as a must buy. After our new kitchen floor was installed the metal kickplate on the dishwasher was too tall to be reinstalled. This product allowed me to cut a beautiful straight line and remove 1.25 “ of material. The kickplate fit back on the dishwasher and it looks like original. I will use these snips for a number things around the garage.
Gutter installation
I bought this to trim gutters and cut a downspout. They got the job done well. Make sure you close the locking latch good or it will spring open easily. I would recommend getting the angled pair too if you are cutting a hole in the center of a gutter for a downspout, makes life a bit easier.
Straight-cut Snips
I recently needed a straight-cut snip, I already had one that cut curves & couldn’t make a straight cut with it. I purchased two versions, but ended up only using this one. It is excellent! It provides an angle between the jaw blades and handle which keeps your hand from banging into the sheet you are cutting.
Waste of money
This snips feel so cheap for the outrageous price tag they have on it. I have not seen a craftman tool that stand out for its quality in quite a while
