The product received mixed reviews. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Updated review, I recieved the flip open utility knife with storage for free for my review. I gave it a good review but after a few month of daily use the release button was loose so knife would not open. The button is attached with screw but can not be tighted as it is blocked by outer house. I was able to drill an access area to tighten it but never really worked right, needless to say it no longer gets used. Great concept but design missed t...

Folding
Everyone has a problem about folding the knife again after it is open. The "New Jersey" review is correct that the trick is the bar on the bottom with the ridges on the bottom of the knife. BUT - you don't push it DOWN - you need to push or pull the ridges sideways toward the fixed side of the lever and that will release this lever that locks it in place. Craftsman should do better - at least have some minimal instructions on the packaging instead of expecting people to search online for so...

Lightweight knife
One of the lightest utility knives out there. The release to close clip is inside the handle. It's a standard blade release clip if you know tools you can figure it out.

Compact Utility Knife
I was excited about receiving the new Craftsman Fixed Folding Lockback Knife and could hardly wait to get it out of the package. It is compact and easily held in your hand. There is even a notch on the bottom side to place your index finger when using, offering a more direct area in which to place your first finger with the rest of your fingers falling in place. However, this may be a problem for someone with a large hand because the knife itself is unusually compact for a utility knife. So guys...
Works as expected
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sturdy plastic and locks in place. Solid folding knife for the price. Only downside is when you put the spare blades in the storage area it makes it hard to open, no big deal though.

There are better utility knives out there
The good: First, this is a Craftsman hand tool, so this knife is covered by the full lifetime warranty they are known for. There is a compartment in the handle for storing a small number of the standard utility knife blades, as with most utility knives. There is a strong spring steel belt clip if you are someone who always needs your knife to be within reach. If the clip gets in your way, it can be removed with an Allen wrench. The body of the tool appears to be made of powder-coated steel and ...

Works Well - Does Fold
I also had issues with trying to get it to fold back down and it took me seeing a you tube ad to figure it out. When you look into the open side of the handle, you'll see a black piece that looks attached, but it's not, it's what locks the knife into position. You just use your finger where the ridges are to push it down so it's no longer locking the knife into position, then you can fold it down again. It does work well, though, I had no issues when testing out the storage space and I don't ...

Cheap material and Not a functional for me
Not a terrible product, but didn't meet my expectations. The knife felt cheaply made and too small. There wasn't really a helpful notch to open the knife with, which while working the last thing you want to be doing is trying to fight to get this thing open especially if you're in a hurry. The overall quality was not what I was looking for. I returned the product. For 10 bucks, it is not a bad product, just not the quality/functionality I was looking for.

Just a basic utility knife thats hard to open
I'm a big craftsman fan but this product let me down. I already have an older version of this that is more heavy duty and is amazing. But i thought i lost it and bought this one. But it doesnt open as easy at all. The handle is not as sturdy and is very hard to open and close. I have two small children and this one doesnt have some of the safety features my old one has where i can easily silde away the blade. It can hold an extra blade in the handle which is nice but thats it.

Bad Purchase
After all these negative reviews why wouldn't at least post instructions on how it works After all the negative reviews why wouldn't you at least post how the thing works. I can't figure out how to even load the blade. Twenty mile round trip to get this thing. Going into the trash. No instructions-why? especially after package said there would be instructions at this site.
