Poor LIFTING ROD

Received the Bosch Js260 as a Christmas gift and although it's a solid built tool the LIFTING ROD 2600780173 failed after the first cut. It would be cheaper to purchase a new a Js260 then order the part and fix it myself. I will look at all options before I consider repairing this unit.

Bad toolless blade system

I now have a nice metal jigsaw that will not hold the blade. If you turn the quick release without having a blade in it, the manual provides this caution “to prevent damage to tool, do not manually turn blade ejector when there is no blade in the plunger.” They should have said DO NOT instead of CAUTION because you will break the toolless blade system! Can't cut square

Although I could have purchased several brands of jigsaws through the distributor I work for, when I decided I needed one, I went elsewhere and bought a Bosch based on their reputation for fine jigsaws. Although I really like the saw, it just won't make a cut that is square to the surface. Although this may not be noticeable on 1/4" plywood, on 3/4 to 1-1/2 wood, it's very much so. Solid saw, decent price

I bought this a few weeks ago, as a combo with a 18pc blade set. So far, has worked exactly as intended, cuts clean and accurate. It feels solid and well made, time will tell how durable it actually is. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, is the lack of a vacuum port, and the allen key bevel lock. Neither one is a huge deal. Bosch JigSaw 6 amp keyless

Needed it make some clean cuts and some cut outs for deck lighting and some other basic jobs. Great machine, cut super clean, on line. Solid feel in hand, a bit on the heavier side. The blade drop out function works like a champ. Blade doesn’t wobble. And I like the various speed and wood cut settings. Great Bosch quality at a really decent price. Garbage

Purchased this a few years ago and used it only a few times per year. During a recent use the spring chuck which retains the blade broke and needed replacing. Ordered a new part - which Bosch would gladed sell for $40 - abd installed it rather quickly. Two uses later and the same plastic chuck broke. If it wasn’t for the cheap chuck mechanism the saw would be great. When it did hold a blade I found plenty of power to cut thru any wood needing cut. Balance and weight is also very good. Nee...

Great saw for reasonable cost

Pros: vibration free; long power cord; dust blower; variable speed; tool free blade insertion & removal; plenty of power. Makes nice smooth cuts with the Bosch blade set. Con: rather tricky to adjust the blade tilt. I knocked off one star because of this. Also note that a led light would be nice but I wasn't willing to pay more to get that feature, which is available on other more expensive Bosch models.

Broken blade within housing

I purchased the saw a year ago to cut both wood and metal. I like the saw and also selected it for the speed thay one might attach a blade to the saw. However, when cutting a metal sheet on an angle the blade broke within the housing and there appears no way to remove the broken component so that I might use the saw again. More than met my high expectations

Very smooth, excellent speed control, very little vibration. My first attempt with homemade circle cutting jig resulted in derailing the blade from the rear support roller. I hadn’t aligned the pivot sufficiently with the blade edge. Adjusted and success on next try, 16 3”radius holes in 3/4” AC plywood for my Paulk work table.
