I am not in the construction industry or professional trades so this Matrix tool set provided everything I need for the projects I have around the house. Great tool

I bought this several years ago and have really liked not having to carry all the full sized tools. I do small handyman projects and these work well. I like them so much I have purchased another drill base.

Matrix review

Not Lowe's fault but upon arriving and opening the battery was bad and would not charge. Purchased 2 new batteries cause one just isn't enough. Called Lowe's and was told that I had to return the whole kit. Can't do that at this time because I need the kit for a peice I'm building for my granddaughters birthday. Overall happy with my Lowe's experience just the battery issue.

Extreme Value

Black & Decker, the original power drill, is always the best go to. The reliability of the brand ensures it's worth it and the best performance. This Matrix set makes a lot of sense and is extremely high value. The toolbox set is enough for any do it yourself work at home and professionally.

Good for cutting knife scales

Great tool for small cutting projects. I did buy some stronger jigsaw blades, since I need them to be sturdy to cut micarta for knife handles. It does the job well.

Battery dead on receipt- will not charge

The tool and attachments look great, but I haven’t been able to test them as the unit arrived with a dead battery- the charger showed a quickly flashing red light when plugged in and did not charge when left plugged in all night. I was referred to the manufacturer to request a replacement battery.

Do not buy from Lowe's

I have purchased two of these Matrix drills from other vendors. One for myself, one for a friend. The unit from Lowe's has a date code indicating it was manufactured four years ago, and the battery came to me dead and not charge-able. Black and Decker's warranty process is egregious, the website repeatedly directs me to register the product with no way to get support.

It's cool but not practical

I really wanted to love this set. It's a really unique idea and from the little I used it I think the attachments work pretty well. But for the price there are just too many cons to overlook: - I had a really difficult time changing out the heads-- to be fair my thumbs are pretty weak. - If you need two power tools on a project, it's kind of a pain to switch between them (especially if you have a problem changing the heads like I did) - While this tool has plenty of interesting attachments, on...

Bad Batteries!

They really shouldn't package these with the battery in the tool, especially if they're going to sit on a shelf for three years before customer receives them. The first one I received had a bad battery. I had to return the entire kit because the stores no longer carry B&D. The replacement kit ALSO had a bad battery. Hopefully this time I can just exchange the battery through Lowes.com...

Theft

You charged me for gift wrapping but it did not come gift wrapped. You stole my money and I will not fall for this again. So sad you feel it is ok to steal from your paying costumers. Repeat customers are you biggest benefit. I will not be a repeat customer.
