I bought a $4,500 Arien's mower. The mower I selected was sitting outside, so I asked if it was going to be cleaned up and detailed prior to delivery. They said 100% and that it would take them a few days to get it ready. What I received was horrible. The unit showed up with several scratches, it was dirty, the seat was loose and looked like someone with grease all over their hands used the seat to wipe their hands off. Ariens ikon onyx
Very happy with the onyx got it new now has 45 hours on it. Serviced the oil at 10 hours about to change again. Have had zero issues thus far. I also have on orange ikon with 130 hours on it and zero issues with it as well bought it new also. I own a landscaping bussiness and these 2 mowers have been dependable and get the job done. Really like the added features on the onyx that makes life a little easier.

Purchased the mower at the beginning of June. Had 8 hours on it when the blade drive belt separated. Belt was installed with several twist in it. Called Ariens and Ashley was very helpful. She offered to have a locale repair shop replace the belt, but I didn't want to spend all day getting the belt replaced. So, she had a new belt shipped to me in 3 days. Great support. Took less than an hour to remove the mower deck and install the new belt. Use to take two and a half hours to cut my yard with...
Parts Issues
The mower itself is great, I've used it for about 6 months now. The only issue deals with Ariens itself, their description for obtaining parts leaves a lot to be desired. This mower is an Ikon 52-inch cut, but the Onyx does not use all the same parts as the non-Onyx mowers, such as trailer hitch or mulch kit, and they do a poor job in describing compatibility. Make sure the parts are specifically for an Onyx.
Good mower, wrong rear tires!
Overall, great quality mower for the price point. Biggest issue I have is the advertised rear tire upgrade is NOT the tire actually received. Neither Ariens nor Lowe's customer service helped fix the issue. Both blamed the other. Disappointed!

Terrible Design
I will never ever buy anything Ariens again. The Ikon is a terribly designed mower. PLEASE don't buy this mower. I'm an engineer if anyone from my company designed this mower they would be fired.

During first mow noticed the grass was being scalped. After looking I noticed the turnbuckles had backed out. It was caught early enough that minimal damage occurred. Ariens customer support was great though and sent new parts to replace the damaged ones. Now that it’s fixed it’s a beast of a machine and mows the yard very well. The deck adjustment mechanism is quite neat as well.

This mower is the first zero-turn I purchased. I am surprised at how easy and precise it is to control - it feels intuitive and was driving like a pro in minutes. The motor provides excellent power - no problem mowing thick grass or handling moderate slopes. It a provides a comfortable, power-packed ride with a light, agile feel - very pleased with this purchase.

Excellent Customer Service
Delivery driver Wes Kirk was outstanding! Took extra time to make sure we fully understood the unit's operation and safety features. Ikon is faster and more powerful than our previous zero turn. I'm able to get a smoother cut over rough steep grades without jarring my lower back. Easy to operate. Just sorry we didn't get one sooner!
