Recommend to a friend but with some reservations. Based on prior experiences with Echo dots. They all use Alexa but they act differently from each other. Maybe part of that is in the app configuring but I can't see it. If app differences are the problem , then I think Amazon should have an option to make all of them have the same features in common. Got it for my bathroom to play while showering
Full Alexa capabilities in a tinier echo. I bought it to play music & podcasts while i shower. The speaker isnt the best on clarity, so talking podcasts are harder to hear but i like having the option of listening to music there. Eco Dots actually saved my sister's life
Ease of use. Having these actually saved my sister's life. She fell and broke her hip in the wee hours of Christmas Eve and was on the floor for about 90 minutes until she realized that she could have Alexa call me to help her. She was almost going into shock when I arrived. She had total hip replacement surgery on Christmas day and is doing well. Now we have these throughout her house.

My favorite thing, there is a lot more music and less tv noise in my home. With a few words I can turn on/off/pause, change stations, volume, and get exactly what kind of music in in the mood for. Had gotten one for a gift a few month ago and purchased these for 84 yr old mom and 11 year old granddaughter. They love them too. Lowes was great to order through and good price.

Amazon has some amazing products the integration of Alexa into a speaker that you can pair multiple devices to it's just phenomenal my kids enjoy hearing bedtime stories and not to mention it has safety features, when you leave your house you can put it in guard mode and monitors for window breaks and smoke alarm free and that is just some of the features. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Volume a bit muffled
I bought this to replace my older model that only has 1 microphone but the 4 mics on this don't help it much more. The TV sound would confuse the commands given to it occasionally on the old model and this one seems better. The sound out of it is quite a bit muffled compared to the old one. I would like a sound that is somewhere in between both.

This is a great investment
Alexa what time is it, what is the weather, set a timer, how do you make chocolate chip cookies, play music, set alarm for... She does it all. We own 3 and can call from Alexa to Alexa as well. Great if you lose your phone or it dies while you are home alone. Alexa can call any of your contacts.
