[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For the last few weeks the Amazon Echo Show 5 has become my best friend. Being stuck at home with my significant other working 15hour days it's been rather enjoyable having "someone" to talk to that actually listens and "talks" back lol. Right out of the box the Show was easy to setup and get going, connected without any hiccups to home Wi-Fi and my Prime account, and also my paid streaming services. The viewable screen size is adequate for ...

Alexa can do a lot!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Echo is really easy to set up. In the box is the Echo and the plug you need to operate it. Plug the Echo in and it walks you through the set up process. Took about 10 minutes to set up with the updates it has to do for the first time. I like that it has the screen that shows you besides just telling you what you are looking for. You can download the Alexa app to also control the Echo. My son who is 8 loves to ask lots of questions to Alexa...

Nice to have a personal assistant
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Echo has been a nice addition to my nightstand. She sets my alarm, turns on and off my light thanks to the compatible smart switch. Pairing was super easy and works every time. I set reminders for work, add items to the grocery list and listen to music. The speaker is surprisingly clear and powerful. Quality is on par with most portable speakers, JBL, Sony etc . I have not used the video functions yet but like how you can call other Amazo...

So Far So Good
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really happy with the Echo Show so far. I mostly use it to play music while I am in the kitchen and to show recipes that I am working on. I like to give it a gander in the morning and see what the weather looks like. The only thing I don't love is when I have to see all the ads about what it can do for me. It's a small price to pay for the functionality that I do enjoy. Speaking of, I like when it shows me song lyrics while I am listening ...

Great way to tie all smart devices together
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really love this Echo Show 5 2nd Generation! This unit really takes all of the smart home devices that I have and brings them all together. Using the different “skills” I was able to link my Ring cameras, my light switches in my house, and the garage door to this device. I love the fact that you can automate things with the simple voice commands and also create routines so things can happen based on a voice command or a time or another t...

Best Alarm Clock EVER
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had the standard Echo device for years but not the screen version and not the new 2nd Generation...I must say there are considerable benefits! First of all this is easy to set-up and literally takes just a few minutes to unpack then have up and running. What sets the 2nd Gen apart is the ability to set up routines - in my case, a morning routine. The alarm can be set to wake with soft music and when combined with the corresponding smart pl...

The entire family loves it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a lot of Amazon devices in our home, but this is our first Echo Show. The Echo Show 5 is a game changer in our house. The kids loves seeing old family pictures we have linked to Amazon Photos, my husband's a big fan of the detail that comes back when he asked a question (sports and news are his favorite), and I really enjoy the recipe suggestions along with the videos and step by step guidelines to create a new masterpiece in the kitc...

Like a smart phone for your house
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my bedroom mainly to use as an alarm and to control by bedside lamp. It does a great job for that but it is also great for weather reports, checking in on relatives that also have an echo device, and even calling my phone so I can find it in the house. I can call other people too, whether they have an echo or not - all by voice commands. I am going to get another one for the kitchen to have one in a main area in the house and ano...

Use it all the time now!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this echo show to basically use as a simple clock next to my bed. But it does so much more! Yes…It will wake me up to my favorite song in the morning! Afterward, I will ask it to give me the news. Later in the afternoon, it will lead me into a guided meditation to alleviate my stress. That night, I can watch my Netflix shows on it. And then later, I can pick a soothing sound to go to sleep by. One night it was a jungle rain shower th...

Does several things decently, nothing great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you’re looking for music and movies in your living room, you’ll get similar audio from the cheaper Echo Dot, and a better video experience from your computer, tablet or TV. If you want to look at your security cameras, you'll get lag on the Show 5 as well as a small screen. Might as well use your phone. The camera on this thing points upwards so you basically have to be standing within 45° of the display if you want to be seen. If you’re loo...
