Poor light
I just installed the microwave and it was pretty straightforward, as expected. Im writing this review before using the oven with the exception of heating up a cup of coffee. The reason for a 2 star review is the light that shines down onto the oven is a joke. It's located in the center-rear of the microwave so it only lights up the very back of the oven below. This unit/brand was a straight forward easy to install with the template they provide. The easy to switch to exterior and interior venting was very easy to convert. All in all, this Amana microwave is great for homes that don't need the fancy mechanism microwave...just straight forward easy to use for everyday living.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This microwave works fine, however, I don't like the roller underneath the glass turntable being loose instead of fitting into the center of the unit. I also miss the quick start feature I had on my other microwave...push 1, 2 or 3 for an auto start for that number of minutes. I do like the interior that is easy to clean, I don't like it not displaying the Amana name anywhere on the unit. That being said, it's a good value unit.

The defrost feature is basically useless. Where do I find the food code? The user manual says to enter the food code and then the weight. And now I need to keep a scale in the kitchen to weigh the food I'm defrosting. My old GE microwave simply asked for a defrost time. The light underneath to light up the cook top is also horrible.
