About a table spoon amount sprinkled on a Fire Ant mound will usually kill the entire mound over night. Do Not disturb the mound prior to sprinkling the Amdro. The ants will come out at night and carry the granuals into mound to eat later. The next day you will see that all the granuals have been carried in to mound and the mound is dead. Really big Fire Ant mounds need a larger dose of Amdro.

If you have fire ant mounds, thsi works to kill the queen and get rid of them! It may not be cheap, but it definitely works and works quickly.
Did Amdro Change Their Formula?
I have a black ant (large variety) problem. I followed the package instructions and have applied once a day for five days now, early mornings and evenings too. They are taking the bait but nothing has changed so far. I will continue this daily until maybe I see results, not impressed......

This is the best fire ant mound treatment I’ve used. Out here in the country, we have a lot of fire ants throughout the warm months. Some really large mounds may require additional treatments.
It does not get rid of your ant problem.
It made the ants abandon the mound each time, however they would just start another mound directly next to the first. Not very effective.

Easy to apply; ants can't resist it; anthill dies within 24 hrs - just apply it when ground is dry, so it doesn't get swollen.
