Don't waste your money

I purchased this in 2022 and the drive end cap assembly has had to be replaced twice in less than 3 years. With shipping, the cheap plastic part is over $100.00.

The problem started few months after I purchased it . Within one year warranty some parts were broken and changed without receiving any help from the technicians(however shipping was free). A reliable and inexpensive water softener

One thing I'd first like to point out is that AO Smith bought out Hague Quality Water which makes Hague units and Waterboss units. Having been a Waterboss customer for 15 years I was very familiar with the product and the AO Smith is virtually identical. The key differences that sold me on the AO Smith unit was 35000 grain capacity vs my previous 22000, the salt capacity of the AO Smith is 200 pounds or 5 bags vs the 120/3 bags of my old unit, so I'm able to "store" more salt and not run out. We first ordered the A.O.Smith 45000 and FedEx delivered to the house. They dropped it off at the front door and left, didn't even ring the door bell. Works great until it doesn't

I've had this unit since late 2019. Unit has worked great...until it breaks down (over and over again) There is a control valve operation unit which the touch screen connects to. Very easy to install - because I was replacing an OLD softener - I only had to make one trip to Lowe's to get the additional pieces I needed. Purchased this from Lowe's in May 2019.
