Sandpaper doesn’t stay in place

The handle on this is comfortable and I’m happy to have a place to rest my fingers. iI’s much much better than the old curved hard rubber hand sander that I’ve been using for years. I also like that you can change the sander from horizontal to vertical. The big issue I have with the sander is the sandpaper doesn’t stay in place and I’m constantly having to adjusting it so for that I’m taking off a star.

Does not hold provided sanding paper well

The unit is sturdy and the handle comfortable however, it doesn't hold the provided paper well at all. The clips designed to hold the paper don't seem to be strong enough to adequately keep the paper from being pulled out under 'normal' sanding pressure. I would not recommend this item to others.

Doesn’t improve the sanding experience

This thing is a pain- doesn’t hold paper in place well, the adjustable handle also doesn’t keep still so you’ll find yourself readjusting the paper and fixing the handle position more than you will sanding your project. Ended up ditching it and holding the paper with my hand.

The worst 3M product ive ever purchased.

Ok, i really wanted to like this thing. I was thrilled, the concept is awesome, it looks pretty decent at first, etc… I have been using this for months, and every time I use it I become more frustrated with it. Something changed for the worse

I have bought dozens of these sanders over the years, they were such a great product that I've been known to give them away, especially to kids starting out building stuff. Well the old purple one I had finally gave up the ghost, so I bought 3 new black ones. Not one would hold sandpaper under the lightest sanding. Paper does not stay on

I spend almost as much time reattaching and clamping down the paper as sanding with it. Bought the same size and brand sandpaper that goes on it. The clamps on the ends just don't hold it down with enough force. I bought this for hand sanding a desk I'm building after doing the bulk of the work with a random orbital sander, and it has done its job, but I could have worked faster and with less frustration if I wasn't stopping every 30 seconds to put the paper on the block again. Poor Paper Holding

I purchased one of the 3M Sand blaster Pro 3.7” X 7”sanding block a little over 1 month ago and finely got to use it 1 week ago. To say I’m disappointed in this product would be an understatement. It won’t hold the sandpaper for but a few strokes and then one end will let loose. When turning the handle 90 degrees and trying to sand get the full 7” the paper comes out immediately. Sandpaper shifts to the sides, not a good tool

I thought because it has the 3M brand it will be a good product but disappointed even with little pressure the sandpaper keeps shifting outside the sandblaster tool. If possible I will return and buy something else. Don’t waste your money and time with this product.

Cannot secure sandpaper

Same problem as every other negative review here, this thing's clamps are just poorly designed and can't keep a firm grip on the sandpaper. It's incredibly frustrating to use when even a moderate amount of force or even just shifting the angle at which you are sanding while on the surface you're sanding. The handle is great, though. Feels good in the hand and the pivoting angle is a really nice touch, it's just a shame that kind of design consideration didn't go into the sandpaper clamps.

Hey 3M, Stick With Selling Sandpaper

3M makes excellent sandpaper, however their sanding block is a major disappointment. Ended up using a sanding block I purchased at Lowes in the 1980's with 3M sandpaper.
