I'm actually using as finger nail file. I have neuropathy , can not hold a regular emery board on my fingernails.

Make sure the paper fits (you need large paper)

Poor Design not typical for 3M
I had this for about a week. The catch would not hold the paper no mater how hard I pushed on it. The sandpaper kept moving to one side or the other. As others have mentioned the catch is in a very poor spot. I hit it a couple of times when sanding and the paper would then release. I took it back and found the older model with the two wing nuts. Now I am happy. 3M make your engineers use the product before production.

hand sander
I guess for the price, its not bad. The handle is comfortable and it does the job. The biggest problem is the locking mechanisms that hold the sandpaper in place are cheap and easily nocked open by just touching them. Yeah, I know, "Don't touch them." When you are sanding a cieling, your knuckle will come into contact with the locking mechanism, opening it and letting the paper come off. The plate theat is supposed to support the paper is thin as well as the pad on it. You get what you pay for.
