Piece of junk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does not compact, does not stay down to compact anything , whirlpool repair guy came said it is not designed to compact anymore, biggest piece of junk I have spend that much money on ever.

Removed standard features and increased price.

Missing features including filter fan and filter so your kitchen Will STINK. Also missing extra compact feature so it only compacts half way. whirlpool has reduced quality and doubled the price.

Does not compact

Get month ago will not compact, goes down comes right back up. Put in a warranty repair guy comes out without looking at it says oh well that is the way they build them now, nothing can be done. What good is a compactor that is designed not to compact. SMH

Fell Apart After 3 Month

Bought in March 2025, in June the front door literally fell off. We have been waiting since the middle of June for Whirlpool to provide a replacement part or replace the unit. Every call to Whirlpool results in the same response: "call back in 10 business days and we will escalate this service request." So far all I know is that this is a defective product and the manufacturer refuses to stand behind it.

It has been over a month since we purchased this item and it has never worked. They have sent multiple technicians and refused to replace it. Do not buy this item. @Whirlpool

Not a Happy with My Compactor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit and wish I had paid more for one that had most important feature to me that I didn't know this one didn't have. To be able to compact longer than just down and up. I thought all compactors had this feature for my compactors in the past all did. It had welds broken in the area where you put the compact bags. Didn't know I coiuld have reutrned it within 30 days or would have for wasn't what I wanted.

Smooth Operatin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this compactor a little over a month ago and I'm so glad I did. Its movement when the door is sliding in an out is very smooth. It was easy to install and level. The one problem I had was the the holes driled in the front and back of the door panel to attacvh the handle we 1) not large enough t accept the bolts and 2) were not alligned. Took carfe of that by redrilling ourselves.

DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF CRAP COMPACTOR

The interior cabinet walls of this compactor are CARDBOARD! No way to "wash inside of cabinet with clean sponge or soft cloth and mild detergent in warm water. Rinse and dry." This is idiotic! No part of the description says this compactor has cardboard cabinet panels. Now I understand why the delivery guys just wanted to take away the old one and quickly leave. I couldn't believe it when we removed the compactor drawer to check level. There are huge grease stains on the carboard with expo...

It does the job of compacting the wasye

Less trips to the trash

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a month ago to take the place of an under counter ice machine. All in all, we are pleased with the purchase. The drawer is a little hard to open with the handle. That would probably be my only complaint. I use the foot operation most of the time and it works pretty well. We are still getting used to the operation. We have only had to take the trash out one time in the past month. There are two of us living in the home.

Poorly made

This unit is poorly made and didn't have the extra pack on it. I have to buy one every 5 years. I wish there were better models. I plugged it in and it didn't work. So frustrating!

Works fine but missing a part

It has a bit smoother operation than the Kitchen Aid unit it replaced. This said, it was missing a cover for the air filter. Costumer service said that the part didn’t exist even though it is shown on the product photo.

Easy install
