Design flaw

The description states it is made of metal- in fact, most of the fixture is thin plastic, the lamp shades are metal. The fixture was easy enough to install, motion detector has been working well, but the fixture fell off its mount in a strong wind, the single small screw pulled right through the thin plastic housing. Your experience may vary.

Failed within weeks

Fixture is not properly weatherized. After a hard rain, water got inside the sensor. The light would then rapidly turn on and off during the daytime. The installation lasted only a few weeks before failing.

Easy install.

Did not last 3 months.

My complaint is the same as many others. After three months, the sensor stopped working properly and would only come on for two seconds and then shut off. Got a refund from Lowe’s. Utilitech is a product that works directly with Lowe’s and I’m really disappointed in the poor quality. I’ll be looking for another light.

Junk - lasted only 5 months

I knew this security light was junk the moment I took it out of the box. I really needed a security light that day and I couldn't find anything better in other stores and this was all Lowes had in stock in this color that day. Motion security light

Haven't had long enough. At this point I feel that it works as it should .

Purchased for garage area security and parking. After getting this light home and unpacking this light I am really not impressed with the quality of materials in this light fixture for the price. Hopefully it performs.

Product works as it should. It is the standard option available, in store, for a wired motion light which accepts the screen in style bulbs. I am concerned about the long term durability, as previous incarnations of this product were metal, whereas this one was plastic. The only issue I had was with the threaded locking rings used to secure the aim of the motion sensor and bulbs once installed.
