File Box 1871

Purchased 6 months ago. Great for transporting small files, but the locking mechanism is a problem. It broke and fell off after a few weeks. Have been managing with a carabiner clip through the lock hole. Is it possible to just get a replacement handle?

Convenient for storing stationery items

Useful, portable, convenient for storing stationery items, I like that it has a handle for a better comfortable grip, good storage capacity, I also like its design and colors.

I'm just gonna say I bought this 10+ yrs ago & my latch immediately broke. Seems like that's still been going on..for years. So.. where's the new latch ? Or why can't I get a replacement latch?

Hinge Breaks Off Easily

The latch hinge has a thin joint where the latch connects to the box, and the hinge breaks off easily through normal use.

Love the file box but the latch broke

Love the file box. Very well made. But the latch broke in the first month. Used 4 times before it broke off.

Nice box, weak hinge

I bought the box because it seemed perfect for fransferring a small number of files from place to place. The hinge on the latch failed after about a year-and-a-half, rendering the box worthless for its intended function.

Great File Box

This thing is great. I use to store all my children's' school work during the year. If I need to find anything school work during the year, I know right where it is. At the end of the school year, I empty and prepare for the next year.

Great for bus drivers/needs stronger latch

I am a bus driver and this filing box is great. I now need a replacement latch as I am in and out of this box over 20 times a day.

Love this box....but whats up with the lid hinge?!

This file box is exactly what I need for the few things I still keep in paper form. We recently ditched our large file cabinet and digitized most of what was in it. Great size for what I need

A nice size for the papers I do need to carry with me. Unfortunately the plugs that need to be used for the rear hinge are not with it.

Not worth the Price!

I bought this about a three weeks ago and in the first week of using it the cover fell off. It was easy to put back on but it still continues to fall off from the back hinge. It is missing the plugs that were supposed to be in it to keep this from happening. I have not put too much paperwork into yet but after looking at the other reviews I would expect for the handle or latch to break as well in the near future. I've had this awesome file box for a few years now and noticed that one of the caps of the hinges has come off and the file box cannot stay closed when being carried. It does not appear that I've overloaded the file box, as it's always held the files I've stored and there is room to slide them around for accessibility, so I'm not sure what caused the part to pop off. Poor closure design

I bought this about year ago. I use it for filing paperwork for a small business. The hinge that holds it closed broke after a few months with very little use so I can no longer carry it by the handle on top.

I bought this a month ago to carry all the paperwork for my father's Estate. When the hinge cap fell out, I didn't know what is was. When I realized what is was I didn't know where it was. So I came on this website and found how to get a replacement.

Good idea but it broke

I bought this a couple of months ago, but the disk that hold the hinges broke. I carried it into a courthouse 3 time, and one fell out, then I was two hand carrying it and the other did. DEFECTIVE. Are there replacement parts?

missing pieces

I bought this 1 month ago and the end pieces have already fallen out so it is now useless

Great product, but...

The very first time I used it, both hinge tabs came out as I was carrying it across a parking lot, dumping small tubes of bead components everywhere. I spent over an hour picking them up, while dodging traffic. I have another file box that lost both hinge tabs, but that was over the course of 5 years! If I could get those little button hinge tabs, this purchase would not be a total waste.

great until the latch broke

had this for two months and it was fine until it needed to be moved - full of papers it was too much for the latch. the handle is quite sturdy - why such a flimsy latch? very disappointed.
