not very dependable

It has been 17 months since purchase and today something broke inside, maybe a bearing, and the motor made a heck of a racket and froze up. What happened to dependability?

Very Solid Saw

Recently picked up one of these saws for minor cuts here and there. It's easy to adjust, cuts straight and doesn't bog down when cutting thicker materials.

Very good quality saw

I needed a new saw, but I don't use one enough to spend a lot of money. I went to my Lowe's store looked at all the different saws they have. I ran across the Skil saw and chose it brought it home opened the box packaged well. The saw is made with good quality, sturdy and very powerful, it does everything I needed a saw to do. Horrible

Product keeps getting loose during cutting and the blade stops spinning. The different mechanisms are poor quality.

Serious DIY'er: Runs Strong Ergo's Feel Right.

My last old Saw lasted 20-plus years before spinning a bearing. I needed a replacement to finish a little shed build, so yesterday evening I surfed the options, price points, read reviews, and landed on this spinning blade of death machine. Nice budget friendly choice for homeowners

Feels solid and with laser

Started strong but didn't last

Bought this saw and it performed well right out of the box. Cuts were clean and it felt solid for the first week or so. Then around day 10 the motor burned out completely. Not from abuse, just normal use on a framing project. Really disappointing for a Skil product. Ended up stepping up to the worm drive version and the difference in build quality is obvious. Save yourself the hassle and spend a little more upfront on a saw that will actually hold up.
