Received one that works well!
I love Simplehuman products. I have them all over my home. However, I would like to say that I purchased a voice activated recycling/trash bin and it worked well for two years. Then all of a sudden it just stopped! It was plugged into its own separate electrical outlet. There is a 5 year warranty on this product, so I contacted Simplehuman and they kindly replaced this bin for me. Thank you Simplehuman!

Replacement
This was a replacement for another, very similar trashcan that's lid broke this one hasn't broken yet and my hopes are high, but we will see

Unreliable
I had my trash can for about a year and all the sudden it stopped opening on command. Luckily I was under warranty so I was able to replace it (the base and lid are not detachable). I have now had my replacement for a couple of months and all the sudden woke up one morning went downstairs and the lid won’t open all the way. Would not recommend.

Warranty satisfaction
After less than 2 years, the lid did not open and close automatically. I reached out via the messaging and was able to get the can replaced quickly.

Best Simplehuman So Far
While set up was a little touchy (be sure the lid has enough room to open fully) this has emerged as a nice upgrade for our step 58l that is headed to our cabin after a hinge block replacement. Simplehuman has been great so far and this appears to be to be no exception
