What Customers Are Saying

Customers are sharply divided on this vinyl flooring cutter. Many report it fails to cut through standard luxury vinyl planks thicker than 4-5mm, only scoring the material and requiring manual snapping. Several describe the plastic base or handle cracking after just one to three cuts, calling it cheaply made. A smaller group finds it works well for thin peel-and-stick vinyl tile under 4mm, praising clean cuts. Overall, reviewers are split between strong dissatisfaction with performance and durability versus limited satisfaction for specific thin-material applications.

Garbage

Would Not Recommend

Horrible product, would not cut through 12mil vinyl planks. Had to pull out and finish each piece with a blade. Handle eventually broke. Project source did cover with a warranty.

Worked as advertised and easy to use. Much better than eyeballing the cut and using a box cutter

Unable to use straight edge

Would Not Recommend

Useless to try and use the straight edge. Have to free hand the cut which is not easy on its own. This will be returned.

Usage

So many complaints on breakage and such. READ the box people ! Says cuts UP TO 2.5mm tile. If you're trying on something thicker no wonder you're giving bad reviews. Guit blaming a product because you aren't smart enough to research what you're buying. This cutter has worked fine for me. Couldn't find the tile i wanted in 12" x 12" so had to get 12" x 24". I used this cutter to make 12" x 12" tiles to cover over 200 square feet with no problems what so ever. Clearer straight cuts. So all you ...

Not a bad cutter.

For the price of this cutter, it does a excellent job. I don't know about trying to use it for long. Term, but for around the house, installing works great.

Works great at first, then...

This does a great job at first, but here's the issue: In order to get the LVT up to the ruler straight edge to get a good 90 degree cut, the blade has to be fully open. After about 10 cuts or so, the cutting handle starts to droop. This closes down the cutting blade just enough to close the opening so that you have to hold up the handle with one hand, and then with your other hand, get your LVT aligned with the straight edge plus aligning to your cut mark. You almost need three hands to operate....
