Would RecommendSalvaging a damaged extension cord. These work well, are sturdy and are easy enough to wire up. No reason to throw away extension cords, won't be as weather resistant as the original molded ends, but still serviceable.

Works just fine, but it doesn't have a stress relief build in so you have to make your own. You can use part of another cord (the sheath) or the like.
