Would RecommendInspect your purchase beforehand, if possible. I'm not sure how a sealed package would have bent pieces, but mine had at least 2 so far (I've put the work on hold for a bit). Either the gap between top and bottom was pressed too far in, or the angle of the lower portion was bent at an angle making it difficult to insert both clip ends into the metal strip. Generally, these are good clips - they stay tight. But when they get bent, they become useless. You have to find a way to bend it back if you...
