It has some plastic in it where the sides connect to the main rod, but seems solid. I might have been concerned about durability if we opened the valance a lot or used it for long curtains that get moved frequently. It is perfect for our needs and reasonably priced. You can buy it online a little cheaper, but might have to wait for as much as...

Would RecommendThis was the perfect replacement for the broken deep pocket rod I had. I do think the instructions need to be updated. They talk about taking two pieces apart and the current design doesn’t allow for that. It is step 3 in the instructions.
