We bought a 3 pack of this tape for use when we paint the bottom of our boat. we do this every year. we have always used Scotch 3M painters tape. This "Blue Original" #2090 is terrible! Yesterday we taped the boat, this morning we painted. Bought a roll of this tape #2090 .Do yourself a favor and never buy this junk. Worse tape for painting I ever used. Tape doesn't stick to anything. I have no idea what Scotch is doing but they are making junk tape now...

It used to be great
I was a professional painter for over 10 years. I ALWAYS used the blue tape. I now only paint for family and friends and recently bought this absolute garbage tape and what an absolute waste of money. Trying to pull any length of tape and it rips in weird places. It's unusable in a hand masker. The worst tape on the market DO NOT BUY.

Worst Tape Ever
Tape dont stick to nothing. I cleaned everything and it still wont stick. Not even to plastic. Big waste of money and time having to go re tape everything over and over. Afraid when its finally time to paint its just gonna blow off and im gonna ruin everything I tried covering. I would never recommend this tape to anybody but their system wont let me go with 0/never only a one. LOL

Horrible results when removing 2090 tape
Would Not RecommendI put this tape down over a quality primer and premium paint. It's horrible when removed. My work has doubled. I must go back and repaint. Just a bad product.

Makes more work, not less.
Would Not RecommendI spent time applying this tape a couple hours ago to dry walls. When I went to take it off, it took off the paint from those walls! Now I have to repaint those areas and obviously can’t use this tape. Very disappointed.

Not worth paying extra total rip off!
Would Not RecommendI paid almost double figuring I was going to get the best. What I got was the peeling of my walls and ceiling while painting my trim. I didn’t even leave the tape on for more the 10 hours. So very disappointed now I have to pay more money to repaint ceiling & walls! So mad!!!

CRAP
I have never had an issue before with this until today. We used it to paint some trim that was added. It has pulled my wallpaper!!! I am so upset!! It’s not cheap wallpaper!!

Does not remove cleanly and brings up paint
Spent an hour using tweezers to remove torn tape from the corners where it stuck when trying to remove the tape and another hour repainting all the places where it peeled up large chunks of paint.

Would Not RecommendLiterally the worst masking tape I've ever used should call it masochist tape because you'd have to be one to intentionally use it. When pulling the tape off it comes off in multiple tiny pieces, and the amount of bleed through on the edges is terrible. I'm going to have to literally repaint two walls because of it.
