Ratings & Reviews for Minwax Color Wash Water-based Weathered Gray Semi-transparent Interior Stain ( 1-quart )

What Customers Are Saying
The Minwax wood stain has received mixed reviews. Some customers found it easy to apply with good coverage and color options, and appreciated the water-based formula for its quick cleanup and lack of harsh odor. However, many reported issues with the stain drying too quickly, leading to an uneven, blotchy appearance that was difficult to correct. The stain seemed to behave more like a thick paint, making it challenging to wipe off excess and blend the color evenly. Careful application and testing on a small area is highly recommended, as the product may work better for some wood types and projects than others.

Cool looking effect
Would RecommendLove the way this effect looks. Especially after it has aged a bit. Only issue is consistency between different cans. Definitely can tell they are different even though they were stirred and applied the same.

Very difficult!!
Would Not RecommendUsed the black stain and was very difficult to to get even without start stop areas. Dries as fast as putting on so when wiping off leave start and stop lines, had to resend and work with 2 people applying and trying to wiping to consistent finish, then sanded twice after with steel wool to even out finish. thick like pudding and dries before able to wipe evenly!!
