Fantastic look and durability!!
After I stained a used desk, I put this minwax poly acrylic over it in matte finish. It is perfect!! We don't even use coasters. Very durable and natural looking without a shiny top coat. I love the way my project came out. I know this will last for a very long time, as I have used only Minwax for all my projects for many years now.

Preferred Poly coat
My preferred poly coating, easy to apply, does take several hours to dry, but increases the durability of furniture so much! makes it very scratch-resistant, stays clear, fills in dings and scratches for a nice smooth surface. Very pleased with this product.

Drips and runs
Would Not RecommendMaking a two sided hanging wooden sign with vinyl lettering. Did two thin coats with a nice Wooster brush, 24 hours apart, and when I went to pull the boards up off the cardboard they were sticking to the cardboard and had these gobs on the back. Even sanding through the paint on the gobs doesn’t remove them. If re-painting the boards with black paint doesn’t hide the gobs that remain after sanding I will have to throw them away and start my project all over.

A good product
The trick is to apply more not less to create an even surface, because uneven application will create uneven gloss. This is easier if the surface is flat thus horizontal rather than vertical due to dripping. A smooth surface to begin with will make it so much easier in achieving a good result. The product itself has good adhesion with good protection. Stir don't shake too prevent air bubbles.
