Have had mine 3 years same battery and works great. Looks like a lot of people in the reviews do not know what they are doing causing a lot of bad reviews. However Lowe’s should stock replacement chains for their customers!!!!

Two batteries are useless

20-30 minutes per 5ah battery?? I have a handheld 40v blower by Kobalt that lasts 5x that on ONE 3ah battery. If I leave the battery in this blower it will drain within 3 days. If I leave the battery in the other blower, it will last more than a year without draining! Waste of money!!!

worst tool ever

trying to kinda go green BUT bought this a while back. This has got to be the worst tool I have ever bought. The battery does not last aby time at all. A replacement is almost 200.00.

Surprising

This saw cuts very good. Its got plenty of power to get through what you need. The battery lasts quite a while and I really like the Kobalt brand.

Effective saw

I got this saw for my wife to use since she does not have the strength to use my full-size gas saw. We have used this saw for several projects and I have been impressed with it cutting ability. I have used this while working in a lift and while on a ladder and it is easy to use. Highly recommended for small jobs and as an alternative to larger gas saws.

works but not the best

Purchased this when it went on sale. It does well for small jobs and it's quiet. now for the cons... the batteries take forever to charge and they have to cool off before you can charge them..the other thing the trigger on the blower is intermitten and I have no idea how to repair it. beware that not to many places repair electric equipment.

Able to use only one time

After the first time, tried to used a second time and would not work even though battery is fully charged.

First battery died after 2 years

I live in AZ and use this blower very sporadically. After about 2 years and maybe 10 uses, the first battery already died. Thankfully Lowes replaced it for me, free of charge. I wonder when the second battery will die... I love the portability of the product and not having to deal with cables, but the battery life is not the greatest. Kind of disappointed with such an expensive product.

great for what I need it for

this saw isn't designed for large cuts and heavy use, so you can't really compare this to a gas saw, but if you're looking for a light to medium-use saw for home use i think it works great. After the hurricane I used as a supplement to my gas saw and did a lot of the limbing and small cuts with it and it worked great! i never had an issue with battery life. my only complaint is the excessive bar oil leakage after use. Complete Garbage

We have less than a quarter acre lot, and the house/driveway take up about a third of that. I can't even get through a quarter of what's left (less than 2700 sq ft! That's it!) before both batteries are totally drained. I'm getting about 20 minutes of run time from both batteries combined, NOT using the "Turbo" feature. Then, it takes over 2.5 hours for each battery to charge. There's only one charger. For one battery at a time. It takes over 5 HOURS to be able to use this pile of hot gar...

Kobalt 40v Chain Saw

This was a good value and great price. I used it today, and it worked very well. Cut threw smaller trees and branches as good or better than my older gas saw.

My Go To Saw

Have a small farm, and cut about 3 cords a year of wood. I'm on year 3 with this saw and love it. It is not my primary saw as I have a few 72cc saws and some other smaller ones. But for limbing trees or cutting brush this is my absolute favorite. If this thing gives out you can be sure I will be buying another.

Works Great

I have most of the Kobalt cordless power tools along with most of the yard care tools and love all of them. Some of them are several years old and still work great with no problems.

I bought the saw last week and put it together with no issues. The 1st problem I discovered was that the chain will not stay on the bar and it won't stay tightened. The chain adjustment on the outside won't do anything for the chain. After cutting about 30mins I had stopped and put the chain back on about 5 times and then the battery died. It's probably OK for a small job but if you need it more than 30mins forget it. I'm taking it back for a gas saw.

Mixed

1 Year later... Saw/Battery time diminished in two three large cuts. Saw quits and seems to overheat causing battery errors when trying to recharge. your products seem to be awesome out of the box then start to decline quicky. nice back up saw but keep a gas one around as they seem to be more reliable. and Kobalt support? what support you are helpless unless you have laminated your receipt and placed it in a safe spot. the company cannot look up anything by serial # refers you to Lowes who r...

Include chain saw oil when buying this saw!

Battery was better than half charged when it arrived. I finished charging the battery before using it. I only cut a few fallen branches from hurricane Idalia. It cut quickly and clean. Battery showed no discharge which indicates how much cutting I did. It is light and easy to handle. Wish I had used it longer and on bigger branches to give it a better test.
