Great tool to make sure your wires check out and track wires.

Very handy ethernet tester, with a few extra tests that can save you some headaches.

I got this to compliment an older ethernet cable tester, and I think this one will take its place all together. It's very easy to test readings on new or existing cables. I used it to test several new runs, one was about 30' in length, and several more at around 2' in length. It was very easy to tell when I didn't do a good job with my crimping. This device is perfect for any IT tool bag. Awesome value for the money on this one! It has so many functions, but the main ones I use are the toner & cable tester. Great to have them both in one device!

Fantastic and versatile test kit.

The capabilities of this unit are unmatched. I have several thousand dollars of fluke test equipment that this replaced. Tone and probe? Does it. Microscanner2? Does it. Cable continuity, perfect! I posted a short video of it on a prefab cat6 cable. The only thing I worry about is the crappy 9 volt batteries it comes with. I would skip them And go with better batteries.

I bought this because it was inexpensive and didn't want a fancier one. I only had a couple of rooms and lines to trace. I found a bedroom ethernet jack that I suspected wasn't hooked up in my panel. After plugging the tone generator into the wall jack I was able to verify that the unconnected cable in my panel was in fact the master bedroom cable. Nice basic tester, proximity tone is a neat feature

I had lost the receiver on my existing network continuity tester, so when I saw this on Vine, I grabbed it. Continuity check works exactly as expected and the tone tracing is a pretty neat feature as well. You will start to pick up the tone anywhere in the proximity of the correct cable, but it should come in quite strong if the probe tip is right on the 7/8 pins (brown/brown white if you use B wiring standard). Even in a crowded cabinet, you should be able to find the right cable.

Very cool device with lots of different functions

Very cool how it has 2 different components so that you can identify wires correctly or find a short in a wire etc etc. this ain't your momma's multimeter that's for sure. Lots of different functions , the instruction booklet included explained all of them fairly well but I still don't even think I've really started to figure out all the different things this can do

Combo Network Cable Tester/Tone Generator and Probe Kit.

This review is for a combo network cable tester/tone generator and probe kit. The network cable tester can test both RJ45 and RJ11 connectors/cables. The probe is also the remote end of the network cable tester. The network cable tester can send a tone over the wires that the probe can trace. It also comes with two 9volt batteries, a short flat ethernet cable and a 6-wire RJ11 to alligator clip testing cable. It's a great value for two testers in one.

I have a couple of network testers I've collected over the years. However each of them requires you to unplug and plug in both ends into the tester. This device has one end that can detect the signal within the cable through the EM signal that leaks from it.
