I bought the Badger XL to replace our Badger 1 which had developed a leak at the bottom I found that the old disposal did not have the option to replace internal seals. The XL attached directly to the old Badger sink connector without modifications. New XL is much quieter than previous model and working well so far. Just two of us elderly users, normally with minimal use of disposal.

Replacing the defective product
I bought a garbage disposal three weeks ago, and unfortunately, the product appears to be old and defective. After installing it, the technician informed me that the unit had a corroded nail . This was a big surprise to me because I purchased the product as new. I was unable to return the product because After installing it, the technician refused to remove it so that I could take it back to the store. I paid $300 installation.🥲

Would RecommendThe Badger 1 came installed in my house when purchased new 10 years ago. It just started leaking today. I’m replacing with the Badger 5- 1/2 HP. Very easy to remove and replace. 15 minute job by myself. I didn’t even need to consult YouTube University on this one.

Would Not RecommendI purchased this on January 13, 2026. Today is August 18, 2026 as I am writing this review. This item stopped working on August 15, 2026. It’s complete stuck and will not operate. It lasted 7 months and 2 days. We use it very, very lightly. This is in a home kitchen with two adults and an older child.
