Would Not RecommendThe online inventory is constantly wrong. Showed 15pcs at one location, actual inventory, zero. Showed 6pcs at another location, actual inventory, three. The only thing worse than not having online inventory is having the wrong inventory.

I looked all over for a #10 x 24 Wood insert and it worked out very well - exactly as I expected
I break every other insert.
Would Not RecommendThese are made to spec. I find brass is just too soft for this application, particularly into hardwood.

No good for me
These broke apart when I tried to screw them into wood. I had the proper sized hole ready and the flathead screwdriver slots broke making these useless for my use.

Would Not RecommendThe thread pitch is too severe to get this to thread in straight easily. The slotted design is horrible. Of the two 2 count packs I purchased, two of them broke, one while trying to insert it, one while trying to back out one that went in crooked. Had to spend over 3 times the price of a pack on a set of spiral screw extractors to remove the broken one.

Would RecommendDrilled a 3/8” hole and twisted this in with a large straight blade screwdriver. The leg for the footstool threaded right in for an effective repair. Easy to use, worked great!

Would RecommendI drilled a 5/16 hole and snapped 2 off because it was too tight. Lowes exchanged them and I rounded out the hole some with the drill. They went in and will work great. 5 stars if I didn't have to adjust the hole and the extra trip.

Would Not RecommendDon't waste your money on these. I broke two of them off using a flat head screwdriver. I drilled 21/64" hole. Google search said to use 5/16" hole. There wasn't much left of them, or I would have returned them to Lowes because I paid about $2.00 apiece. Now I am going to try the hex head inserts. :( It would be nice if Hillman would provide hole size they're designed for, but then they wouldn't sell as many.
