Waste of money

We bought ours in April of this year and it no longer works. I have cleaned it and everything the way they show to do it. Last night it kept going into a defrost mode. So I followed the steps to fix that issue. Then left it over night to make ice. It didn’t even make 1 cup all night. We even bought the extra warrant on this and can’t seem to get ahold of them either to get it fixed or replaced. This is a lot of money to just throw in the trash.

Unfortunately didn’t last long.

Keeps saying to add water when there’s water and not making ice. Had it less than a year.

Great ice, but broke after 2 years

However, I started having issues with it at the 1 year mark, and had to replace all the hoses even though I regularly descaled the machine. At the 2 year mark, the whole machine stopped making ice. It would constantly go to “defrosting” mode for hours every time I turn it on. The machine is still broken at this time.

Very bad product don't waste your time or money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is junk I've done about six of them probably for my rental houses and everyone of them have went bad everyone on the ice maker stops making ice and the gears break inside the gearbox and it gets loud as crap this is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen in my life and I know you guys design these things on purpose like this form to fail why else would you put plastic and carbon gears in them Very very disappointed disgusted at...

Noises

Loud screeching noises that drives me crazy. Keeps you awake. Ice is great. Love to have for my coffee and drinks.

Cant use

Horrible

Mine makes an awfull noise. Look up the videos. There are many. Support drags their feet and gaslights you. They clearly have a crappy product. I will say we loved the ice we got for the first 2 months. Now its about to be in a video similar to the printer in OfficeSpace. Save your money and time. Two months of fighting with them to get a replacement and now they will not honor the remaining warranty on the replacement.

Can't recommend

We just gave ours away. Loved the ice. Hated cleaning it every three weeks. Always had a watery mess to clean up. Way too loud to be in our kitchen where it was convenient. I would not buy this unless I had a huge utility room with a sink and it was located right next to the kitchen.

Great when it works

Its great when it works, is also very noisy and kind of has a mind of its own

Poor quality

The machine stop making ice. Goes between making ice to defrosting cycle with out making ice. This machine have an excellent cleaning buy the book and still fail. This machine is not cheap is expensive. Is possible that GE send me a new ice maker for free?

Great ice, crazy noises and not just the motor

The ice is fantastic but I’m 2 weeks in and this thing makes the craziest noises. Very loud strangled mechanical sounds. The motor noise is just fine but there is seriously something wrong with this. I have to turn it off all the time which kind of defeats the purpose of having ice on hand.

Great Ice, but don’t leave on continuously

In general it works well. But if I leave it on it starts making a horrible moaning sound. I tried descaling but doesn’t fix the problem.

Good Ice but Doesn’t last

Love the ice but started making a very loud noise like the motor is going bad. Have only had it for 15 months.

Great Machine

Love the machine. The only knock on it is how extensive and often it needs to be cleaned.

I’m getting concerned!

Between the noise, the drainage, and the sometimes unexpected no ice in the mornings I am getting very concerned. I am happy I got a warranty on this ice maker. Sad part is that since I wake up some mornings and there is no or very little ice. And yes it’s got water in it and in the reservoir. I surely don’t want to move it to the RV nor purchase the same brand for the RV. At least at home it’s on a stable surface. So i can imagine what will happen if it doesn’t care for a ride in the RV. Anyway...

DO MOT BUY!

Junk. Waste of money.....lots of money. Lasted about a year after having performed regular maintenance.I have been through 2 of these machines. Both died within 14 months, and started making a crazy grinding noise and not making ice with the suggested cleaning as well. However it is so clear they are selling a garbage product and don't care about their consumer at all. This should last for years, not for months:

Great product

We love this ice maker. It runs 24/7 never any problem with it. Only thing is I wish I would have kept the manual that come with it I didn’t think I’d need it but you really do.

Quiet and functional

I had another lesson expensive brand and it was noisy and I was constantly filling it. This machine is amazing. Quiet and makes great ice.it is a large machine but for everything it is and does , well worth it.

GE Opal Nugget ice Maker

This ice machine has been wonderful and user friendly. It produces very well. My family has loved having it for convenience. Low noise levels, and easy to integrate with your kitchen appliances without looking off.
