Solid microwave

We’ve had this microwave for about three months and it’s a significant upgrade to our 7 year old GE Profile model it replaced. It is over a cook top, so the no handle works well. The vent is strong when needed and on the lowest setting it is quiet. Heating is fast and the cooking area is large.

Excellent Appliance Installation Experience

I recently purchased a GE over-the-range microwave from Lowe’s and had it installed through their installation service. Features

Pre-programmed select reheat feature questionable. Touch sensitive buttons hard to activate, requires a hard press in the right area of your selection. Great look, easy cleaning.

Finger print nightmare & pour manufacturing

This product is a massive disappointment right out of the box. Glaring visible air bubble trapped directly beneath the button pad. It looks utterly cheap and completely ruins the aesthetic. It signals practically non-existent quality control. Then there are the fingerprints!! The exterior finish is a complete fingerprint nightmare. Within seconds of handling it, the surface gets covered in greasy smudges and streaks that are nearly impossible to wipe clean without dedicated micro-fiber cloths.

Working well

It has been in use for a month now and is working well.

Looks great

Easy to install. Nice fit and finish. The door closes easily and clean up is no problem. The surface light has two brightness settings. The exhaust blower works well and the controls are easily understood.

Heating failed after 2.5 years

Loved this microwave but it stopped heating food after 2.5 years, more expensive to fix than replace.

tinny sounding door opening

we had to replace an earlier model of the same microwave. This one is tinnier on opening the door than the older model which felt more solid and substantial. the fan on this one is much noisier and doesn't vent any better than the older model. not sure i'd buy another GE microwave based on this experience.

Very good features with a few exceptions…

This is a replacement for an older model GE Profile microwave. The pros for the new model are that it has a lighter colored gray interior instead of a dark almost black one where you can better see how to clean it and the touch pad is spread out horizontally across the front of the door instead of vertical. It also is opened by a recession in the side of the door instead of a front handle making it easier to clean. The cons are that the door window is a very narrow high profile slit. If you are ...
