Remember with silicone you have to use the entire tube at once because even if you cap the nozzle, the contents will harden. I end up wasting part of the tube each time. Also, paint will not go over the silicone smudges so you will have streaks and bare spots when you try to paint the area afterwards, so paint first, then apply silicone.
