Incredible battery life, and very cool to see many trails displayed in my vicinity without any cell signal. This is a back-country & backpacker's MUST-HAVE device. The battery life is very impressive, and I feel incredibly safe carrying this around with me.

not impressed
i bought for the At hike and for the first month the garmin had very poor service hardly ever sending message when wanting to i ended up using satellite off my phon e seem to work much better.sad because everyone raved about unit but 2 of us had same issue

I dont like it ..it is to complicated .. in an intense emergency ... If you are relying on this, it would get you killed.

Garmin inReach Mini 2. Good for SOS.
I recently bought the Garmin iReach Mini 2. I've been messing with the navigation functions such as they are. I must be a dull guy because I'm not picking up on it. This device will be relegated to SOS function only it seems. I'll need to use something else for navigation, probably my iPhone. I could buy a GPSMAP 67i but that negates the Mini 2. I had a GPSMAP 66i which was adequate but cumbersome as would be the 67i. The 66i is not eligible for subscription plan suspension so I had to...

Where are the satellites?
Disappointed that my phone has 5G but my Garmin is telling me to make sure I have a view of the sky...

SOS
The difficulty with the inReach Mini 2 isn't with it, it's with me. I wasn't able to master the technology necessary for our C2C trek. I have some work to do to make use of this. Thank you, Kate

Great features!
I love the simplicity of it. It was easy to figure out and share with family.

Battery life
The battery dies quicker than I expected, even when I am not using it for tracking my activity.

Sparse instructiins
I think the device has great potential and could be life-saving, but I’ve been frustrated with the lack of instructions. Everything‘s available online and it’s confusing in circular. It took me several days to even get the device connected. And then when I used it, it seemed OK, but I’m not sure what tracking versus waypoints are. There’s really an absence of instruction on this thing and I’m paying for every 10 minutes it’s beeping. What for? I think it’s recording tracking points, but then I c...

If you go outdoors and don't use this, youre wrong
I take this anytime I leave the house on a long trip. It provides additional peace of mind for my wife who can track me while I trail ride or on some offroading expedition. Useful for long trips on highways too in case of car trouble and no cell service. The ability to pair to my phone is great because the device messaging is a bit limited. Originally I planned to only use this during the summer, but the Garmin inReach Mini 2 has become a essential as a first aid kit for me.

Too complicated.
It’s pretty complicated. Multiple apps and multiple websites. I’m slowly figuring it out, but it should t be this complicated. If I could return the inReach 2 I would. Then I’d go back to Spot.

Pretty easy set up
My wife bought this for me as I am starting to ride BDR routes on my motorcycle. This offers much peace of mind if something does happen I can get help and reach her to check in if things are going well.

What’s your life worth? Get this locator now!
I do adventure riding on my 2026 Yamaha tenere 700. Having this in my gear keeps me safe in an emergency situation. 24/7 response team is amazing.

Works great but still learning the software. I like how small it is.

Feel more relaxed
I bought this for the safety it will provide while hiking on my own. I have only had one hike up a 14er here in Colorado, but I know it has made my wife more comfortable about my hiking alone. Even though I have had it less than a month, based on the hike and friends that also have one, it will make my hikes a lot more relaxed.

Helpful even in non-emergency situations
I recently activated a Garmin inReach Mini 2. I never expected to use it for non emergency but I was bicycling 10 minutes (by car) from the house and I pinch-flatted my bicycle. Like a good Boy Scout I reached into my saddle bag to fix my flat, only to find my tire irons were missing! I reached for the Garmin and messaged my son to dispatch my wife. Help arrived and she brought me home. Thanks Garmin! I would have given it 5 stars, but when my son received my message, he replied with a "Thum...

Great Safety Communication Tool
Super small and light, but still easy to use. Worked wonders when I went backpacking out of cell service and wanted to let my family know where and how I was. Has smart features to save power. Glad that I got it, it makes me feel safer.

Like Having Google Maps in the Wilderness
This is fantastic. Like having google maps in the wilderness. I love the waypoints feature. I do wish adding a KML file was a little simpler, and could be done from the app, as well as the web browser, but that's too small an issue to dock a star or anything. This is an excellent product.
